Involves minimal physical effort and is typically associated with leisurely activities. Activities are low-intensity or last less than a few hours each day.
After comfortably settling into your cabins, be introduced to the crew at a welcome cocktail. Enjoy dinner and an evening of activities on board and remain in port overnight.
The morning is dedicated to an optional visit of Pompeii. A reminder of the violent forces that lie deep inside Mount Vesuvius, Pompeii is Europe’s most compelling archaeological site and one of Italy’s most visited tourist attractions.
OR
Optional visit to Herculaneum: Herculaneum's fate runs parallel to Pompeii. Destroyed by an earthquake in 62 AD, the subsequent eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD saw it submerged in a sea of mud that essentially fossilized the city. Discover the wealth of archaeological finds, from ancient advertisements and stylish mosaics, to carbonized furniture and inhabitants.
In the afternoon join an optional visit of Naples. Italy's third-largest city is one of its oldest, most eccentric, and most delicious. Discover the must-see sites such as Old Naples, the Royal Palace of Naples (outside), and the Cappella Sansevero (indoor), containing the masterpiece Veiled Christ, renowned world over for the remarkable tissue-like quality of the marble. Return on board the ship and begin to cruise towards Milazzo. Tonight join a Neapolitan-theme evening.
Spend the morning cruising through the Aeolian Islands. Rising out of the cobalt-blue seas off Sicily's northeastern coast, the UNESCO-protected Aeolian Islands are a little piece of paradise. The chain of islands is named after the demigod of the winds, Aeolus. Arrive in Milazzo in the early afternoon and join an optional excursion to Tindari. Discover the Sanctuary of the Black Madonna built on a promontory overhanging the entire Gulf of Patti and its immense Tonnarai d’Oliveri lagune. Spend free time in the center of Milazzo.
Take an optional day trip (lunch included) to Mount Etna and Taormina. Spend an unforgettable day combining a visit to these two exceptional sites. The largest active volcano in Europe, to the ancient Greeks Mount Etna was the realm of Vulcan, god of fire, and the home of the one-eyed monster known as the Cyclops. The bleak lava wilderness around the summit of Etna is one of the most memorable landscapes you’ll ever see. Then continue on to Taormina, idyllically perched on a rock high above the sea, Taormina incarnates the legendary beauty of Sicily. Its Greek-Roman theater is not to be missed. Tonight’s evening brings to life a traditional Sicilian evening.
Enjoy a day trip to Calabria. Calabria is at the toe of the boot, the extreme south of Italy, and lapped by the splendid crystal-clear Ionian and Tyrrhenian Seas. Its warm climate, beautiful colors, rocky coasts, local food, and the vestiges of its ancient origins make Calabria a unique place to be enjoyed in both winter and summer. Begin your visit with Tropea, a seaside resort with impressive scenery. It has that lovely, timeless, faded feel characteristic of sleepy southern Italian seaside towns. Enjoy a tasting of some local delicacies. Afterwards, head to Pizzo, one of the hidden gems of Calabria. The center of Pizzo is a picturesque network of narrow lanes bustling with modern Calabrian life.
Spend the morning cruising along the Amalfi Coast. Designated by UNESCO as an outstanding example of a Mediterranean landscape, the Amalfi Coast combines great beauty and gripping drama: coastal mountains plunge into the sea among the deep crags, picturesque towns, and lush forests. Join an optional excursion to visit the villages along the Amalfi Coast. Discover Sorrento and its extraordinary gardens and landscapes. Tonight enjoy a glamorous gala dinner and evening.
Embark on a full-day excursion to Capri and Anacapri. Take an airboat to splendid Capri. Then head to the village of Anacapri and visit the villa San Michele, built at the turn of the last century by Swedish physician and author Axel Munthe. Anacapri is located in the highest part of the island, and from the villa's gardens enjoy a fantastic view of the city of Capri, the Gulf of Naples, and Mount Vesuvius. Anacapri is saturated with the colors, scents, and light of the Mediterranean. In the afternoon, enjoy some free time on your own or visit the Gardens of Augustus, offering splendid views of the sea and fantastic photographic vistas. Return to Naples by airboat. Tonight join a traditional folkore entertainment on board.

Everything was amazing! The planning with Adventure Life went smoothly. The actual trip was fantastic! One of the best trips I have experienced. The cruise staff members were knowledgeable and attentive. I will be writing more about this on the blog!

The response from Adventure Life to my first inquiry was prompt and promising. I worked with Jamie Broeckel, Trip Planner, via text, email, and phone calls- always extremely responsive and thorough with information and explaining the process to arrange a private tour for me to Malaysia Borneo. Within about week, the booking was complete and I made decisions because of Jamie's great customer service , friendly manner, and overall competence on behalf of the company's travel expertise. Now I have an itinerary, additional Trip Planner Assistants, several links for vital information for traveling to Maylasia, etc. Still many details for Sept. trip, but now the heavy lifting is done and I can enjoy the rest of the anticipation and research!! Thanks Jamie- you are amazing!!!!

The trip was not only memorable for the amount of animals we saw but also for the people and accommodations at the two camps where we stayed. Our first guide, BK, was a wealth of information about the animals, landscape and down to the plants and what they were used for. Everyday out was a learning experience with him. All the people at the camps were gracious and the food was excellent.
Our second camp in the Okavanga was just as good as the first as far as the staff, accommodations, food and animals. After our experience at the first camp we amazed that the high quality remained the same. Our guide, G, made sure we were able to enjoy every experience including a rush through the bush to witness a cheetah and an ensuing hunt that he heard over his radio.
In both camps there were enough guides out that if they saw something the other guides were informed which helped in seeing as much as possible. It was also nice that the concessions were large enough that we did not have vehicles following each other throughout the day.
Normally there is always something in a trip of this length that we think could be improved upon but this is the rare case where we cannot think of anything. From the time we left the States to when we returned it was one of the most hassle free vacations we took.
Perhaps emphasizing the use of the laundry facilities at the camps would be useful because of the luggage restrictions would be the only thing I can think of as an improvement to future clients.
