Visit the pagodas and Buddhist monks of Sagaing Hills and Mandalay
On arrival in Bagan, transfer to the ship berthed on the Ayeyarwady River and prepare for your upcoming Asia river cruise. At Bagan over 2,000 temples and pagodas are scattered over an awe-inspiring plain beside the river. After lunch, join the guide and visit the inside of some of the more significant pagodas. Late afternoon your guide takes you to watch the sun setting over a field of glowing pagodas. Enjoy dinner and local entertainment on board.
After breakfast join the guide to explore some of Bagan's local markets selling wood carvings, fabrics, longyis, and rattan goods. See Myanmar's famous lacquerware being made. Alternatively, rent a bicycle or horse-drawn cart and explore this enchanting area on your own. Relax on the ship as you begin to cruise to Mandalay and watch the fascinating river life glide by. A casual cocktail party is followed by dinner on board.
After a leisurely morning on board, join the chef on top deck for a cookery demonstration as you sail past the hills of Sagaing. Disembark in the afternoon for a tour of Mingun, home to the enormous, ruined pagoda of King Bodawpaya. In the evening, enjoy dinner and local entertainment on board.
After a short cruise in the morning, disembark at Mandalay for a tour of the fabled city. Continue the tour through Amarapura to Shwe Kyet Yet Village and reunite with the ship. After lunch, visit the Sagaing Hills, considered to be the living center of the Buddhist faith in Myanmar. In the evening, enjoy dinner and local entertainment on board.
Day 5 Disembark in Mandalay | Fly to Yangon
After an early breakfast, transfer to the Mandalay airport for your onward flight to Yangon.

Our guide and driver were very good with their knowledge and were very helpful with our questions. It was a very pleasant visit that would have been impossible to do on our own. Hotels and restaurants were fantastic. The special places we got to go to, like the kitchens, were great. Enjoyed the entire trip!
