Featured Journal: Llama Llama Ding Dong!
Traveler, DeAnn Phillips, joined us on our Cachiccata Trek in Peru."My husband and I took the Cachiccata Trek and it was amazing! We loved everything about this trip: Cusco, the Sacred Valley, Ollantaytambo, the 3-day trek and Machu Picchu. We fell in love with the mountains, the people and yes, even the llamas!" ------------------------------ Keep your journals coming! When I asked our staff to share with me some of their favorite trips, I was flooded with comments and suggestions. Two things are certainly: there is no shortage of opinions, and no shortage of incredible trips to choose from. Here is a handful of some of the favorite front-runners."My favorite trip is the Pure Patagonia 8-day because of the opportunities to hike in Torres del Paine and the opportunity to stay at the EcoCamp, one of the most unique accommodations I have stayed in. For travelers wanting to be sustainable and visit TDP, the EcoCamp is the way to go." – Jonathan, Operations Manager "If I were able to leave town tomorrow, I would definitely head to Ecuador on our Amazon Adventure 8 Day Tour. Kayaking down the river through the Ecuadorian Amazon sounds fantastic. I really want to experience first-hand the indigenous cultures, diverse wildlife and natural wonders that the Amazon Adventure offers. I think this trip offers an alternate view of Ecuador that not a lot of people realize exists. Paddling in wooden canoes in the rainforest … sign me up!" – Reilly, Operations Coordinator "My favorite Adventure Life trip is Chalalan Lodge located in the Madidi National Park in the Bolivian Amazon. It is owned and operated by indigenous Quechuas, and the price isn't bad either!" – Julia, Financial Controller "I would love to do the Salcantay trek, just for a chance to hike for a little longer through the gorgeous Peruvian Andes. Salcantay was also the most beautiful of all the mountains I saw from the Inca Trail--the morning at Phuyapatamarca, we woke up early and hiked a little ways above our campsite to watch the sunrise over the mountains, and Salcantay looked so wild and exotic and lovely in the morning sunlight. I would love a chance to do a trek that get a little closer to the wild one." – Allison, Content Editor "Ecuador Adventurer: This trip is an adrenaline packed mix of different activities and eco-systems. It's perfect for the traveler who thrives on variety and adventure." – Mary, Adventure Coordinator "My favorite ALJ itinerary is the Wildlife Odyssey tour in Ecuador, which combines a Galapagos Islands tour, a visit to the Ecuadorian Amazon, and an overnight stay at the historic Hacienda Pinsaqui near the Otavalo Market. One of the really amazing things about Ecuador is the diversity that exists within such a geographically small country. I think this tour really highlights some of the best Ecuador has to offer. Many people don't realize that we can base this itinerary around any one of our Galapagos tours, so there is a lot of flexibility in terms of pricing and scheduling." – Renee, Adventure Coordinator Want to go? Our Ears Are Burning!Adventure Life is in the news again! This time it is our Peru Manco Multisport trip that was featured in the November issue of Men's Journal. "Finally," states Men's Journal "outfitters are getting creative with their Peru itineraries. Latin American specialist Adventure Life, for one, leads a multisport trip from Cuzco to Machu Picchu..." Or perhaps a few of you read about us in this month's issue of ForbesLife, which included a fantastic travel essay by Todd Pitock about his icy polar journey on board the Antarctic Dream.
