At the heart of the lush Panamanian rainforest is the Gamboa Rainforest Resort. Gamboa has all the facilities of a luxury resort nestled in the heart of the Panama Canal, under the Sovereignty National Park and on the convergence with the Chagres River, all only 30 minutes from the city.

The Resort was opened in 2000, at the dawn of the new century, and developed a property that combines the splendor and facilities of a luxury hotel with the freshness and beauty of the rainforest. The Resort is full of biodiversity that will fill your senses, and provide an exceptional experience that will linger in the memory.

These rooms overlook the Chagres River and National Park and are simply amazing and relaxing. The rooms, like all others, have private balcony with hammock, one king or two double beds, cable TV, mini bar, voice mail phones, bathroom with shower, coffee and closet.

Ideal for families with children. These suites have two floors, a master bedroom with a king size bed and modern bathroom with embroidered robes, and a loft connected by a spiral staircase, which has two Twin size beds and another bathroom. The Resort offers a total of thirteen of these rooms and all are located on the highest level of the Resort.

This Suite is unique in the Resort. The most luxurious and spacious in the hotel, with a kitchenette and a loft with two twin beds on each floor. It has a bathroom with embroidered bathrobes.The room is also located in a very privileged place in the highest level of the main building, with the best view of the river and the rainforest.

Especially for the traveler who enjoys the contact with nature and physical activity, these 34 apartments are located next to the Resort's main building. Built of historical wood in the year 1930 for officers of the Panama Canal Administration, these unique villas have been carefully renovated, decorated and furnished. All apartments in villas have hardwood floors, living room, kitchen, coffee maker, satellite TV and ceiling fans as well as air conditioning units.

The main restaurant is open daily. It offers international cuisine buffet style or a la carte with theme nights.

In the lower part of the property is the famous Gamboa pool. It is divided into two parts, for children with a depth of 1 foot and deeper 5 foot adults. Every Sunday join in the water volleyball games. The perfect place for fun.

In the Ocean Business Center take advantage of the use of computers, Internet, printer and fax. This open daily.

In Zoovenirs you can find a wide variety of products such as the famous Taguas of the Embera Indians, National Crafts, colorful Kuna Indian Molas of our books, baskets, Cocobolo wood products, to newspapers and pharmacy. All you could need is found in the Gift Shop.

You may make a journey of 1.2 km on the only cable car of Panama through the rainforest, learning and enjoying the wonderful flora and fauna. After about 20 minutes of ascent from the first station you will reach the summit of Cerro Pelado where you walk a small path that will lead you to the Observation Tower, which has 10 levels on a spiral ramp.

Throughout the tour you will be accompanied by a guide who will explain what you observe in your environment, enabling you to learn about the different species of the place. As you climb more see more of the Chagres River, part of the Panama Canal, and the Embera Indian Village and Town.
