Adventures in Patagonia! Ready to kayak A beautiful day trip just outside of Ushuaia. Highly recommend time in the park before an Antarctica trip

Day 1 Trek and Paddle Tierra del Fuego National Park

Just north of Ushuaia is the Parque Nacional Tierra del Fuego, Argentina's first coastal national park. This adventure combines hiking and paddiling within the park. First, a 3 ½ hour hike takes you through forests of both high and low deciduous beech, evergreen beech, winterbark, firebrush, and more. After your hike, you'll climb into inflatable canoes and sail to uninhabited beaches and majestic places, just as the ancient Yamana tribe use to do thousands of years ago. The Yamana used canoes carved from tree bark to explore this same area. The crystal-clear water runs into Laguna Verde, one of the most picturesque, panoramic spots in the park. Your take-out point is Lapataia Bay, where you may see petrels, albatross, steamer ducks, and on occasion, penguins. You'll return to Ushuaia in the late afternoon .

Everything was amazing! The planning with Adventure Life went smoothly. The actual trip was fantastic! One of the best trips I have experienced. The cruise staff members were knowledgeable and attentive. I will be writing more about this on the blog!
