Experience Cusco's history during your stay at this luxurious boutique hotel. Its history will transport you to the Spanish – Peruvian epoch. This Cusco boutique hotel was built over a house declared part of the Cultural Patrimony of Peru which was originally an Inca temple. Later it became a Spanish House occupied by nobility and regent Don Fernando Cartagena and Santa Cruz, thus this hotel is named after him as Casa Cartagena.

Casa Cartagena has been restored maintaining its original architecture allowing its history to permeate through its present walls.

This boutique hotel has 16 suites surround by beautiful Spanish patios, where time and tradition have blended in a majestic way. It is located a mere two blocks away from the Nazarenas Plaza, considered one of the most elegant neighborhoods surrounded by beautiful andean landscapes.

- Royal Suite (approximately 1615 square feet)

All suites have been especially designed to make your stay in Casa Cartagena a pleasant experience. A second oxygen outlet found next to the bed can be used at your convenience; the oxygen mask will supply the necessary oxygen to reach high altitude acclimatization.

Dining Options

La Chola Restaurant
La Chola Cusco restaurant has a legendary history; a picanteria used to operate here under the same name in the mid-nineteen hundreds and was renowned all over the city for being the meeting point of recognized artists, poets, writers, politicians and intellectuals. Among the most famous visitors one must mention Pablo Neruda who was inspired by the majesty of Cusco and enamored of the beauty of the house. Composed during his stay here, a big part of Neruda's work refers to Cusco and Machu Picchu.

La Chola's culinary tradition has been restored and recovered giving a new life to the restaurant that presents its menu with dishes from the new Peruvian and International cuisine. The wine cellar was built inside an Inca wall to maintain the quality and characteristics of a rich selection of wines.

In-Suite Dining Services
Your In-Suite dining service is available 24 hours a day. Enjoy the same impeccable restaurant service from the comfort of your own suite. With this service you will be able to order everything you wish for from the convenience of your suite; from breakfast to a gourmet candlelit dinner accompanied by a bottle of Gran Reserva.

Lobby Bar
Relax in front of a wood-burning fireplace while you enjoy a good conversation and a glass of a Gran Reserva from the wine cellar or select a book from the library while relishing every sip of a espresso made with the highest quality organic coffee from Cusco's rainforest.

Both of the Lobby bars have a wood-burning fireplaces and central heating; soft lighting that creates a warm atmosphere at night, ideal to relax before dinner or a walk in the city. During the day the lobby bars are the perfect spot for a meeting before the start of the day.

Terrace Bar
An informal, cozy and modern atmosphere can be enjoyed on the terrace. The Terraza Bar offers you a spectacular view of the Cristo Blanco while enjoying a glass of champagne or a traditional Pisco Sour. Terraza Bar has both an open-air and covered area surrounding the main patio, ideal to enjoy a conversation under the Andean blue skies or a clear night.

Location
Casa Cartagena Cusco Boutique Hotel is located in the historic center, Calle Pumacurco # 336, 200 meters from Cusco's Plaza Mayor (Main Square).

Casa Cartagena was built in an urban area exclusive to Inca Nobility; nowadays this area is still one of the most important and quiet in the city. Shops, restaurants, city attractions as well as typical cobblestone streets that represent a city with Spanish and Inca influences surround the hotel.

Located within a 5-minute walk, the Artisan neighborhood of San Blas, which rises into the hills above Cusco is characterized by steep cobblestone alleys that offer spectacular views of the city. You'll find studios and workshops of artists and artisans was well as art galleries, ceramic shops and jewelry stores.

This was our first trip to South America and we were a little nervous. But Adventure Life made things so easy! All our questions were answered before we left, and our guide, Vidal, was amazing! He gave us enough space to explore without rushing us along. He also knew where the best picture taking opportunities were, which was great.
