Our idea for this trip started with seeing Machu Picchu, but soon, trekking the Inca Trail became integrally important to the purpose of the trip. Dave & I are in our late 50’s. We hike, but we\'re not athletes. Once we decided on the trek itinerary, “while we’re there, what else can we see ?’, added Manu & Lake Titicaca, and they were great, too. The entire trip was a fabulous experience, and we were very pleased with everything Adventure Life provided.

This journal is co-created by Nate and Michele. We planned our trip to Peru over Thanksgiving 2011 to celebrate our 1-year wedding anniversary and it was truly magical. We share a passion for travel and seek destinations that are both off the beaten path and which offer a winning combination of great food, beautiful scenery, adventure and amazing people. Peru did not disappoint.

A traveler\'s journey along the path of the Incas, from Cusco to Machu Picchu. Although everyone prepares you for the physical aspect of the hike, no one prepares you for the visual treat that this Andean hike offers. The trail takes you past dazzling peaks and glaciers, luminous glacial lakes, and through cloud forests, full of waterfalls, colorful orchids and delicate hummingbirds. The journey culminates at the lost city of Machu Picchu, nesting high on a mountain ridge.

My philosophy has always been that life is too short to do things you don’t enjoy, and too short to be missing out on doing things you do want to do. That is why I built my business in the way I did – so that it would free me up to do what I want to do. Our Brazil and Peru tours were interesting - but huge. Everytime we went to a new place, it was a full day’s traveling.
