Arrive in Longyearbyen and board the M/S Stockholm in the afternoon. Settle in to your cabin and attend a safety briefing as the ship sets sail.
This voyage is flexible, enabling you to see as much as possible of Svalbard given variability in the weather and the movements of sea-ice. The captain is constantly on the lookout for wildlife and will spend time in the pack-ice as conditions allow to search for polar bears, walrus, bearded seals and beluga whales. Attempt to visit some of Svalbard's tidewater glaciers and walrus haul outs and visit its seabird rookeries to view guillemots (murres), razorbill, puffins and kittiwakes. Deploy the Zodiac as often as possible for more detailed exploration and for going ashore, to walk, study the tundra flora and to look for reindeer and Arctic foxes. Expert guides will stay with you to provide excellent information, interpretation, and expertise.
Arrive in Longyearbyen and disembark after breakfast. Transfer fo your hotel or the airport, depending on your independent onward journey.
