An active Chile kayaking adventure offering a great add-on to your Torres del Paine hiking tour. Enjoy a 3 day/2 night river kayaking and camping trip along the Serrano River. Enjoy the breathtaking scenery and wildlife during this fully supported Chile tour.

Day 1

Torres del Paine and the Serrano River

Drive from EcoCamp in Torres del Paine to the Serrano Camp on the southwest shore where the Serrano River begins its winding exit out of Torres del Paine National Park. Here you receive a safety briefing and your equipment and being paddling down the Serrano River. Enjoy the breathtaking scenery for the first 4 hour stretch. Next you cross a small piece of land to avoid a waterfall, and continue downstream past mountains covered in Lenga forests. Disembark at your first campsite along the river near the mouth of the Tyndall River. Here pitch tents and enjoy dinner by the campfire.

Day 2

Southern Ice Field Glaciers

After breakfast, pack up camp and continue on the kayaking journey. For this section you paddle downriver taking in magnificent views of Tyndall Glacier, one of the largest glaciers in the Southern Patagonian Ice Field. Take a break at Estancia Pekin Guerrero for lunch and continue with a 3 hour paddle through fjords at the foot of the beautiful Mount Balmaceda. Arrive to Mount Balmaceda itself, where your cozy mountain lodge awaits.

Day 3

Balmaceda Glacier and Last Hope Fjord

This morning kayak to Balmaceda Glacier in Bernardo O’Higgins National Park, a hanging glacier that can only be visited by mode of water transportation. This glacier stands at over 6560ft!  Part of the Southern Patagonian Ice Field, its icebergs calve into Last Hope Fjord (Ultima Esperanza).

Next paddle towards the main dock of O’Higgins National Park and leave your kayaks to board a catamaran to Puerto Natales. Arrive to the picturesque town of Puerto Natales, where you are transferred to a hotel of your choice for the evening.
