Day 1: Minas de Wanda

Head out from Iguazu this morning towards Minas de Wanda. After your 20 minute drive, arrive at this unique mine where semi-precious stones are extracted from basalt and turned into jewelry and other fine objects. Spend time with your guide exploring the area learning about the extraction process as well as how the jewelry is made. Along with this process, learn how tea, mate, and pine tree plantations are crucial to the economy of Iguazu.
