Lake Titicaca
Three day extension to allow travelers to spend two nights on Sun Island and visit Moon Island and Copacabana. Explore Lake Titicaca, a geographic landmark at the crossroads of the Andes and the Andean plateau. Lake Titicaca is South America's largest and the world's highest navigable lake. According to legend, the son of Inti, the sun god, emerged as the first Inca from the waters of Lake Titicaca.

Day 1 Sun Island on Lake Titicaca (L,D) 
Early this morning, transfer by private vehicle with your guide to Copacabana. From here, we board a boat and head toward Sun Island (1 hour ride). The Sun Island is worshipped as the birthplace of Manco Kápac and Mama Ocllo, the first founders of the Inca empire. With your guide, tour the Pilkokaina Palace, the Inca’s Fountain, and the 200 stairs of Yumani. You will have a traditional atapi lunch (a picnic with local dishes) followed by an hour walk to the Estancia EcoLodge, our home for the evening. Enjoy dinner and the sunset on Lake Titicaca.
Day 2 Moon Island (B,L,D) 
Hike to Challapampa on the north part of the island to see Chinkana (Labyrinth), a sacred Inca temple and visit the community.
We then travel by boat to Moon Island. Visit the Inca ruins of Inak Uyu on the northeast shore believed to be the convent for the Virgins of the Sun.
Return to Sun Island and la Estancia EcoLodge in the afternoon.
Day 3 Copacabana. Return to La Paz (B,L)
This morning return by boat to Copacabana. Visit this picturesque town situated between two mountains on the shores of Lake Titicaca. Explore the Inca sites outside of the city as well as the cathedral with its dark Virgin of Candelaria statue and museum of European and local religious art. Travelers interested in a workout can climb El Calvario and enjoy a spectacular view of Lake Titicaca and Copacabana.
Return to La Paz in the afternoon.
