Upon your arrival to the Harry Mwanga Nkumbula International Airport, meet your Safari representative and head straight to The River Club - your home for the next two nights. Take a guided tour of the Zambian side of Victoria Falls and feel for yourself the infamous thunder as the water cascades over the ragged rock edges and plummets 355 feet to the pools below. In the evening, after settling into your spacious room, enjoy a sunset river cruise and ponder your upcoming adventure.
*Please note that the falls are seasonal and almost completely disappear in November and December.
Today is yours to explore as you would like. Visit a local African Village, take your first game drive in the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park, or try your hand at fishing. Enjoy a private guide and vehicle at your disposal to insure a truly unique and personal experience.
Transfer back to the airport for your private flight to Kasane, Botswana. Upon arrival, transfer to the helicopter pad, where you are whisked away to King’s Pool Camp in the Linyanti Concession.
The Linyanti's perpetual waters attract herds of wildlife that walk well-worn game paths to quench their thirst in the dry season. Predators follow in their footsteps, providing diverse and exciting game viewing. The area’s range of habitat includes riverine, savannah, forest, and plains and offers travelers a diverse safari experience available in few other, if any, destinations. Spend time on traditional game drives and keep your eyes peeled for the rare roan and sable antelope, plains game and, of course, their predators: the lion, leopard, and endangered wild dog as an incredible bonus.
Fly from the Linyanti to Jao Concession, where your camp will transport you into the story of Swiss Family Robinson. Nestled into the trees which jut out of the delta, Jao Camp is a maze of elevated boardwalks with all the luxuries one could ask for. Watch from your suite as game meanders right in front of the lodge, take in a relaxing spa treatment at the renowned spa, or take a private game drive by boat or jeep to see what animals lurk nearby.
Jao Concession is a wetland habitat and offers Mokoro, boat trips, guided walks, and game drives all year round. Within in boundaries, find one of the most densely populated areas of sitatunga and red lechwe. Wildlife concentrations depend on the water flow and volume, thus changing from season to season, but all the large animals can be found in the area including elephants, lions, leopards and buffalo. Jao concession is also a birders paradise with its exceptionally large concentrations of the endangered Wattled Crane, Slaty Egret and Lesser Jacana. Enjoy meals in the lofted dining room of your camp, giving you unparalleled views of the delta.
Fly to Abu Camp on your private C208 aircraft. Transfer to Abu Camp and prepare for an intimate elephant experience. A resident elephant heard allows travelers the opportunity to experience and interact with these massive animals. Take part in a once-in-a-lifetime elephant back safari, walk with the elephants, feed them after a job well done, and even have a dinner in the elephant Boma (weather permitting). While you are in camp, arrange to fall asleep listening to the grunts and huffs of the elephants in Abu camp’s sky bed – an experience not to be missed!
*Please note elephant interactions can never be on a private basis.
At a time advised by the Abu Camp management, take your last flight from Camp to Maun, Botswana, where you say goodbye to Botswana! Fly home on the flight of your choice.
