Camping
Day 1 Hornopiren
(L,D) Begin the trip in the morning from Puerto Montt or Puerto Varas and drive southwards to the Alerce Andino National Park for a quick stop. We will cross on a ferry and once on the other side enjoy the Pichicolo Hot Spring, before continuing to the small park “Patagonia el Cobre” were we will spend the night.
Day 2 Quintupeo Fjord
(B,L,D) We will drive south and reach the ocean where the kayaks are unloaded. After a safety briefing, we will start paddling towards the narrow entrance of Quintupeo Fjord. This day we will travel for 4 spectacular hours in the heart of Pumalin Park. The fjord has huge granite walls; we can see waterfalls that jump from the Andes to the sea. Camp is set up at the end of the fjord and dinner is prepared for a relaxing evening.
Day 3 Cahuelmo Fjord
(B,L,D) Today we will paddle for 5 to 6 hours to Cahuelmo Fjord, a wonderful place with big mountains that rise from the sea and then go inland among narrow valleys. We will see a colony of sea lions, and once we have reached the end of the fjord, we will find the Cahuelmo Hot Springs, a part of the Pumalin Project. We will set camp near the natural pools. We will enjoy a hot spring bath and the amazing southern latitude sunset followed by dinner and free afternoon.
Day 4 Return to Puerto Varas
(B,L)On our last day we will go hiking and enjoy thermal springs while waiting for the boat that will take us to Hornopiren. Here we will meet our private mini bus that will take us back to Puerto Varas via a ferry on the Reloncaví Fjord. Transfer to your accommodation.
