MV Via Australis
Stefan Grossman (Cruise on MV Mare Australis + Cruise on MV Via Australis, Nov 2010)
We rounded Cape Horn this morning in treacherous seas ....... I never thought I would ever be saying anything like this. But let me go back to the beginning of this part of our trip. We are on an ‘Expedition Cruise’ to Patagonia. The word cruise conjured up quite a different picture in my mind to where we find ourselves right now. Five days, four nights aboard the Australis, several stops and opportunities to get off and explore ........ Well literally explore in that sense. Kitted out in as many layers of clothes as we have with us, and lacking waterproof trousers (unfortunately), bad planning on our part. We sailed out of Punta Arenus about 8 pm accompanied by a wonderful sunset.. Cocktails and a nice diner, new friends at our table. Everyone very excited to be here and swapping stories for where they’ve been and where they are going on this vacation. There are a total of 14 nationalities on board, mostly spanish speaking. Throughout the day there are lectures ranging from the explores who first discovered and named the various islands of Patagonia to the geological aspects of the land to the formation of glaciers. We have been off the boat three times until now. The first time the weather wasn’t too bad, i think the temperature was around 4 degrees celeus and sunny. After the safety briefing and sorting out lifejackets - we were loaded into ... Read All
MV Stella Australis
Mary Peterson (Cruise on MV Stella Australis, Feb 2011)
Highly recommended to see this remote area of the world. We rarely saw any other boats. The boat was only about 1/2 full so that made meals and talks very comfortable, not sure how it would be with a full ship. We had great weather and were able to do all the excursions. The Stella Australis was built in 2010 and is very spacious with wonderful food and drink. The ship crew and service was great! Monica, Jen, and Sullivan all did a great job. Very attentive - I had a question about power plugs and it was answered right away.
Lakes Crossing
Laurie Catron (Awesome Argentina + El Calafate/Perito Moreno Glacier + End of the World + Lakes Crossing + Chilean Lake District + Lake District Sea Kayaking + Pumalin Park by Sea Kayak, Feb 2011)
The tour overall exceeded my expectations, and they were pretty high to start with. Considering the complexity of this month long tour, and all the components, it was nearly flawless. The support staff throughout worked very hard on our behalf, and did everything possible to make the trip memorable. It was much more than I expected. I truly loved this trip, and I have traveled extensively, great job.
Iguazu Falls
Alison Charman (Awesome Argentina + Iguazu Falls + Patagonia Wildlife Safari, Feb 2011)
This was our second trip arranged through Adventure Life and I didn't think you could top the first. However, you DID and this one was just as special. You went beyond my expectations, which made it a very special trip.
Torres del Paine stands out among many good memories and if I ever have to camp again please let it be in a Dome Suite! My advice to anyone is to get to Patagonia before you're too old. We met some really great fellow travellers along the way and were so energised by our adventures. Thanks for everything!
Apollinaria Pankiw (Argentina Glacier Adventure + Iguazu Falls + Peninsula Valdes, Feb 2010)
Overall I would rate this tour company 10/10. Our trip included three segments back to back ... and considering how challenged some parts of Argentina are for infrastructure I am thoroughly impressed with the flawless coordination of our trip, the superb quality of our guides, and the completeness of the attention we received by the guides during our travels. The trip could not have been better!!
Excellent work Adventure Life! Thanks!
Andean Northwest
Terena Chapple (Andean Northwest + Iguazu Falls, Jan 2009)
We had no idea the Yacutinga Lodge, Iguazu Jungle Lodge and Colome Estancia would be so luxurious.
The tours were professional, educational and loads of fun. We enjoyed ourselves and plan to use Adventure Life again. We met a couple who were on their third trip with your company so that says a lot!

Another awesome and organized trip from Adventure Life! For pre-departure support, we received very, very helpful emails---especially with the itinerary updates and the Argentina reciprocity fee. Our local guides, Pedro Fina and Marcella were just lovely guides--truly interesting souls! And our accommodations were excellent. El Pilar at El Chalten was exquisitely charming. Iguazu Jungle Lodge was wonderful as well. Also, the camping accommodations were great too.
Ushuaia / Tierra del Fuego
Amy Lafko (Cruise on MV Orlova, Jan 2010)
My trip was outstanding. Our tour leader, Kirsten, was incredible. I can't thank my trip planner, Renee, enough for encouraging me to take the Orlova so I could participate in the kayaking. This is what made the trip even more special. I appreciated the speed in which Renee provided answers to my many questions. I felt I was well prepared for the Antarctic expedition because of her hard work. The kayak experience was out of this world, the crushing of the brash ice as we paddled ahead to icebergs. Because of the kayaks, we avoided the motorized zodiac noise and there was silence with icebergs and glaciers surrounding us. Whales came close to the kayaks to investigate us. Only 300 people kayak in Antarctica each year and I felt lucky to be among them. We had a record 9 kayak excursions and each one was unique and special. Getting up close to ice floes with leopard seals popping up to check us out, having fur seal pups follow us and play around the kayaks all made the adventure full of wonderful memories.
The Tierra del Fuego tour (day-trip from Ushuaia) was well organized. The lunch was a lovely surprise although the hike was a little mellow for my taste.

Buenos Aires Extension
Ronald Fugitt (Awesome Argentina + Beautiful Buenos Aires and the Falls + Easter Island, Dec 2009)
It truly was an adventure tour and we were very pleased overall. Karen, our guide in Easter Island, was a real treasure. Also our guide Angela in Buenos Aires. The guides make all the difference. Everything happened like clockwork! We were very impressed that everything went off as expected. The guides and drivers were always on time or even early. Thank You!!
Argentina Glacier Adventure
Thomas Monson (Argentina Glacier Adventure, Mar 2011)
Easy to work with for all planning needs. Good information and quick responses to my questions. Primary guide (David) was excellent. Hiking food was great
Michael Henry (Argentina Glacier Adventure, Mar 2011)
If there weren't so many other places to go and see, I would do this trip again in a second. I've recommended it to others already. People think my pictures are fake. I'll use Adventure-Life when I visit Peru and Ecuador for sure. I made some great friends, as well.
The people who took me from Calafate to El Chalten (Mario and Cecilia) were excellent. They were really great people. Everywhere we stayed was very nice without making me think I spent too much for it. Victor cooked for us in camp and he was great as well. We all became friends on the trip.
Susan Dubuisson (Argentina Glacier Adventure + Patagonia Panorama + Pure Patagonia, Jan 2011)
Gabrielle in Argentina and Roberto and Soazic in Chile were the greatest. We learned a lot from them.
we couldn't believe how fine the weather was the whole time. The logistics of the trip worked perfectly; the lodgings were just right. We were surprised at all the vegetarian options made available for us. We had a fabulous time.
End of the World
Sue Bohlander (End of the World, Nov 2011)
We were a group of two. It was amazing to have such personal service. We were always met at each new location with someone to pick us up and deliver us to wherever we were going. We met with other groups along the way to trek, etc, Our trip was everything we imagined and more. We loved being on such an active vacation.
Joan Bartram (End of the World, Nov 2011)
The whole trip was for me amazing and I was completely satisfied although tired when I returned home. I was amazed --every single time we were supposed to be met or have tickets or be taken somewhere it happened. I still think it was magic each time a guide handed me a ticket to something--e.g. the boat ride at the Perito Merino glacier. I experienced exactly what I want to see from Cape Horn ( a life long fantasy) to the Condors at Torres del Paine that were new to me.
Steven Linderer (End of the World, Mar 2011)
had a fantastic time and got to see and do everything I had hoped for. This trip was a really big deal for me, having never done anything like that before, and having always dreamed of "rounding the horn" and visiting Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego since reading about those places beginning in grade school back in the 50s. It was a dream come true and I can't thank you enough for the excellent way you packaged the trip.
I'm a fussy eater, not very adventuresome at all, and not prone to trying new things, so some of the local cuisine was not to my liking (like lamb). However, there was almost always a good variety and I surprised myself by trying some new things and actually enjoyed many of the things I tried. I was prepared to dislike having to try foreign foods and thought I might go hungry at times, but this turned out to be no problem for me all all.
The guides were really great. Friendly, spoke good English, and very accommodating to our interests. They quickly became our friends. Couldn't have been better. In particular we appreciated that they were well versed in nature interpretation and the cultural history of the area.
Not being experienced travelers, we had a few questions after reading over your materials, but all questions were answered quickly by email. Overall this trip was very well packaged and explained.
Awesome Argentina
Carol Jo Tichenor (Awesome Argentina, Dec 2011)
Our tour was excellent at all points! We loved coming to the end of the hike and having a wonderful lunch (with wine) waiting for us. The staff clearly enjoyed serving the clients and it made it really fun. The food at the Estancia in El Calafate was such a nice surprise... very nice cuisine ... served while looking out onto a beautiful landscape. There was a great combination of hotels (Buenos Aires), inns (Ushuaia which gave you a feeling of local flavor) and the Estancia (where the food was exceptional.) The combination of the accomodations made the trip more interesting. The tour guides Augustine and Norbi in Ushuaia were outstanding. They knew the area well and were able to share history with expertise. They were enjoyable and really built a TEAM of the participants.
This is the second time I have traveled with your organization and this trip was again exceptional. Well orchestrated in all aspects. I had confidence that everything was well taken care of. No mistakes happened and our flights were what we wanted. I plan to travel with you all AGAIN and recommend you to more friends.
Kathleen Hoyt (Awesome Argentina, Dec 2011)
This was a great adventure! Every detail was addressed from the transportation, to the guides, to the food, to the different types of activities. Accomodations for our group of 3 was perfect. Delicious food which was well prepared and presented on our outings. Also met the needs of group. We did get a bit tired of ham for breakfast but the bread and dulche de leche was great! Guides were all fantastic. All spoke English very well, were knowledgeable, friendly, patient and were responsive to different needs of all in group. Hotel staff all very friendly and helpful.
Janet Mukai (Awesome Argentina, Dec 2011)
This was one of the best trips I have taken. Everything ran smoothly and I did not have to worry about anything but having a good time with my friends. I would highly recommend Adventure Life and this wonderful trip to Argentina. The guides were enthusiastic and really seemed to like their work. The local staff was very helpful. For instance, my luggage did not arrive with me and the hotel staff helped to retrieve it for me. The drivers were prompt in picking us up at the airport, boat terminal, hotel, etc. . If the driver did not speak English, we were told ahead of time (or I assumed it when the travel papers indicated that there would be no guide). But we were able to communicate well, me with my limited Spanish skills! Hotel food was pretty good. I guess Argentinians eat a lot of ham and cheese for breakfast! The cooks did a great job both in food preparation and serving in a timely manner. The food on the trek was superb. It was great to get some exercise, see the beautiful scenery, then have a delicious and hot meal and wine!
Kerry Lantau (Awesome Argentina, Mar 2011)
Everything was very well-organized, and all of the activities were a lot of fun! Sullivan was extremely helpful in answering all my questions! Some of my favorites were hiking on the Perito Moreno Glacier, hiking in Tierra Del Fuego National Park, seeing the penguins up-close on Gable Island, and seeing the beautiful views of Iguazu Falls. All of the hotels were great! My favorite was El Galpon Del Glaciar in El Calafate - it was very cool to stay at a working sheep ranch. Also, the tango show at Carlos Gardel in Buenos Aires was top-notch - definitely a must-see!
Taste of Argentina
Richard Popkin (Taste of Argentina + Iguazu Falls & Argentine Rainforest, Aug 2011)
The "Taste of Argentina" Tour is an excellent trip, well thought out, planned and executed by Adventure Life and its Argentine partner, full of extraordinary natural beauty, quaint towns and delicious food and great wine. Adding Iguazu Falls and Yacutinga Lodge made a great trip even greater! Adventure Life does an excellent job when it comes to logistics, as well or better than any other travel company with which we have dealt. It was, without question, one of the best tours that we've taken anywhere in the world.
Mattie Hendrick (Taste of Argentina, May 2010)
This tour was a class act! The llama trek was one of the highlights and should be listed as an option for one day. Although there is a lot of driving, it was necessary for the long distances we wanted to cover. Guadalupe provided lots of rest/short walk stops so it never felt oppressive. If I would change anything, it would be to add one more day in the Cafayate area. We could have easily spent another day there going on hikes in the region and enjoying the vineyards and town.
We had two picnics - one at a park in a small town along the way - and the other during our llama trek. Both were wonderful - elegantly presented, with good food and nice wines. One of us is a vegetarian, and there was always enough non-meat options provided for her.
Guadalupe was a delight, as well as being an excellent guide. She was a font of knowledge on many subjects and gave us a good understanding of the culture and the customs.
Vicki Jo Moore (Taste of Argentina, Jan 2010)
We've traveled fairly extensively in various parts of the world in a variety of manners. This trip has to rank as our best trip ever, as a couple. Our itinerary was incredible, our lodging amazing, our tour leader knowledgeable and articulate, and the places we visited were beyond description. We came home relaxed, fat, and happy!
It was really better than we expected because, based on our information from you, we thought we'd be in a tour group of up to 12 people. Instead, it was just us and our guide and driver. We didn't expect the great transportation that we had--the vehicles were comfortable and well maintained. We didn't expect the "luxurious" hotels that we stayed in. So our trip was, generally, far more than we expected.
Our tour guide for our Taste of Argentina trip was fabulous, as was our driver. They were incredibly knowledgeable, flexible, and organized. They made an effort to find out what our interests were and catered to those interests. Between our tour guide and our driver, there was no question we asked that they didn't have an answer to. They were amazing!
I was amazed at the quality of the places we stayed. We were in some small towns, yet our hotels were beautiful, immaculate, and the staff incredibly helpful and friendly. We weren't expecting 5 star hotels, and while we didn't stay at what some people would consider a 5 star ... Read All
Lisa Bridges (Awesome Argentina + Taste of Argentina, Mar 2009)
I really enjoyed the trip. The one thing that would have made it better would have been an extra day or two, particularly in the "Awesome Argentina" portion of our trip. The main place where this would really have added to the trip was in El Calafate. An extra day would have allowed us to spend some time enjoying the beautiful estancia where we stayed (El Galpon del Glaciar) and to visit the city of El Calafate. We didn't arrive in El Calafate until late afternoon, then we spent one full day at the glaciar and participated in an organized set of activities at the estancia in the evening, and then left fairly early the next morning. Since the estancia is quite a distance from the town, we weren't able to visit the town at all.
All of the accommodations were great - unique, comfortable, and attractive.
Most breakfasts and other provided meals were excellent or very good, one was okay (breakfasts at the Hosteria Linares in Ushuaia). The dinner provided at El Galpon del Glaciar in El Calafate was a particular highlight. We chose to have dinners at three of our other hotels (not included in the tour costs) - La Casa de la Bodega in Cafayate, La Comarca in Purmamarca, and Hosteria el Cortijo in Cachi. The first two were outstanding, the third was very good.
Beautiful Buenos Aires and the Falls

All five of us had an awesome trip!!! Everything went without a hitch. The drivers and guides we're always prompt and courteous. The accommodations were a great location and the hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. I would recommend adventure life to anyone and most definitely travel with them again!
Deborah Aldama (Buenos Aires, Iguazu Falls, and Machu Picchu Custom Tour, Sep 2010)
We cannot say enough good things about our tour guides. We were so fortunate that we were the only ones on virually all of our tours so were really received individualized attention. We believe that this is what made our trip so memorable. The tour guide were very knowledgeable and attentive to our needs. They all deserve an A+!
I knew I didn't want to join a typical tour group and "trekking" is out of reach for me now. Adventure Life is a great balance between those "extremes". The walking tours were perfect-the guides seemed to sense my pace and didn't push farther that I was able. Between the beauty of each country and the history/interested facts that were shared by the guides, this trip was beyond our expectations! I have been looking forward to a trip to Machu Picchu for years. Once I started planning it, the trip just grew. We could not be more pleased in the outcome. These memories will last a lifetime for us.

We had a rough start to our tour--our flight from the US to Argentina was cancelled. However the AdventureLife crew made us feel completely at ease. AdventureLife re-arranged everything in our itinerary within hours to make sure that we had the complete experience that we were promised. It was absolutely fantastic! At every hiccup in the beginning of our trip, our contact at AdventureLife helped us through it by giving us different options of what we could do and by making the arrangements based off our decisions. I can't speak highly enough of this company. They were absolutely amazing.

Kristine Sowl (Iguazu Falls + Pure Patagonia, Dec 2008)
Tour overall was good: Yacutinga Lodge -- Excellent. Would have liked to have spent a little more time here, especially to view more birds. Iguazu -- Did not really enjoy the afternoon jungle adventure on December 4. The zip line canopy exploration seems more like an amusement park ride than a canopy exploration. I guess I wanted to experience more of the jungle and less of the thrill rides. Iguazu Falls -- Loved them. Had a great day here and actually enjoyed having a private guide so I could spend the day as I wished. It was a very hot day at the falls so the wet boat trip was very welcome. Buenos Aires -- Good choice on hotel locations. I spent a lot of time walking around looking at old buildings and statues. Particularly enjoyed my visit to the Ricoleta Cemetary and the crafts market. Torres del Paine -- Had a great trek and excellent weather (in fact, hotter than expected). Sights to be seen on the first four days were excellent. I got to hike to most of the areas I wanted to explore.
Staff at Art Hotel, Esturion, Yacutinga, Park Chateau, and Ecocamp were all friendly and helpful. Yacutinga Lodge and Ecocamp staff especially went the extra mile to make your stay comfortable.
Food was generally good to excellent, depending on where I was at. It was particularly good at Yacutinga Lodge.

I would highly recommend Adventure Life to anyone considering a journey to South America. I'm happy that I chose your travel company for planning and booking my adventure to Patagonia. Information was very detailed and fairly accurate. Laura Cahill did an excellent job helping me set up and organize my trip.
Loved the local guides, both at Glaciares and Torres del Paine. Transfer reps were also very friendly.
El Pilar was a nice surprise as I didn't know what I was in store for. That is, not staying in the town the first night and instead staying in that quaint/lovely inn. The Sierra Nevada in El Calafate was excellent. Service there was great. Loved the free wi-fi which came in handy as I had my iphone with me. And they let me keep my bag there for the day when I returned a week later. So friendly and accommodating. And then there's Eco-camp, which exceeded my expectations in so many ways.
Northwest Trek
Amy Cram (Northwest Trek 9-Day, Sep 2006)
I thought Jenny did a fantastic job pre-departure. In Argentina, everyone was friendly and helpful. Emiliano our tour guide on our trek in Salta and Juan Carlos were fantastic. The food and lodging were wonderful, too. Great tour!
Patagonia Glacier Explorer
Cameron Mattson (Patagonia Glacier Explorer + Patagonia Wildlife Safari, Feb 2011)
We were thrilled to experience Iguazu and Patagonia in this well planned trip. Mary and Sullivan were excellent to work with. Great customer service. The local guides added a nice cultural experience. Never met a mediocre person. All were excellent
Heidi Kinkartz (End of the World + Patagonia Glacier Explorer, Jan 2011)
The land and people of Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego are special indeed. There are few places left in the world where one can experience the untouched beauty and remoteness of nature and the friendliness of the people who inhabit such places. Local tour leaders/guides clearly understood that travel is as much (if not more) about the feeling that you experience as the things that you see and do. The people (guides) with whom I was in contact greatly enhanced my experience by the positive feelings they left me with. It was with a heavy heart that I departed the region for the more cosmopolitan areas of Chile, but I am comforted by the fact that I hope one day to return to experience more of this unique world.
Futaleufu Wild Whitewater
Derek Cutting (Futaleufu Wild Whitewater, Jan 2010)
Everyone on the Adventure Life team were awesome to work with. This was my first adventure trip and I really didn't know what to expect. Adventure Life is very organized and took care of any of my concerns as soon as they could. My room in Bariloche was top notch, extremely comfortable and welcoming. My accommodations at the Bio Bio base camp were beyond luxurious camping ... I had a blast! There should be a button for better than excellent because the team at Bio Bio was incredible. Great people, never any detail left out. If I was missing some things from my packing list (which I was) they had it covered, the food and drink never stopped coming, the amenities were always clean and stocked. Cookie, the chef and his crew, were magnificent; we had dishes that I still don't know how they prepared them out in the middle of the Andes mountains! Eduardo, our driver was always waiting for us to take us to our next adventure. I had a blast and met some amazing friends who I plan on keeping in touch with. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE weather you're a beginner like myself or a 15+ year adventure vet, like most of the other tourists who were with me ... This adventure and the friends I made will NEVER be forgotten! Once again, because I can't say it enough .... THANK YOU, and MAHALO!
