Bolivia Backroads
Adelaide Leavens (Bolivia Backroads, Oct 2010)
This tour was an amazing fete of organization. It allowed us to see so much of the country, which was our goal. Highly recommend all the lodging on our tour. Each was very special in its own way. Not too fancy, but clean, comfortable and well located. Kudos to your staff and the in-country tour for their careful timing.

We had great confidence in the Adventure Life team. It did prove well founded. Bolivia is a welcoming culture and the trip was fantastic. We thank Adventure Life for your expertise and would use you again.

Most people would say, when booking this trip, "Bolivia?! Why Bolivia? What's there?!" I would tell them "Bolivia, why not?" - they don't realize they are missing out in seeing such great wonders of the country, everything from the colonial charm of Sucre, to the salt flats, to the rugged landscape of Bolivia and to a vast, visible sky for great star gazing.
Chalalan Lodge - Bolivian Amazon
Claudia Coplan (Chalalan Lodge, Aug 2010)
Everything was wonderful. Suffice it to say, that I learned a lot, enjoyed meeting people from all over the world, but especially the locals. I had wanted to speak Spanish as much as possible & fortunately I was able to. I have increased respect and understanding of the people/culture/values of Bolivia. My horizons have most definitely been broadened. Thank you!

The Chalalan was wonderful, amazing they can maintain such high quality so far from civilization. Reasonable Hotel in Santa Cruz but great in Concepcion - amazingly nice place so far from everything.
The people at Chalalan are amazing, superb guide Rigoberto, great food and everyone trying so hard and accomplishing so much. They should be encouraged as what they are doing is very difficult but necessary.
Mercedes is amazing and her driver Javier the safest we have ever had. She speaks beautiful English, knows everyone in the Mission area of Bolivia and has wonderful insight on the area. I was not very excited about this part of the trip BEFORE we did it but LOVED it. There is much to do there and a nice hotel - the Grand Hotel of Concepcion. I would definitely recommend it. Bolivia is like Costa Rica with more historically interesting things to do, much cheaper and far fewer tourists. We were able to go to the Madidi - amazing more monkeys than I have ever seen. The group there are superb. They are from a local village and have intimate knowledge about the jungle. The guides are smart, speak several languages and can actually call animals and birds to them. The lodging is very nice, appropriately rustic but safe, clean and fun. The food was amazing especially since one is so far from civilization. It was very exciting and a definite must for the ... I had another fabulous trip with Adventure Life! Bolivia is great! The Chalalan Lodge experience is just fantastic. Madidi Park is everyone's dream of a rainforest-lush, beautiful, and filled with wildlife. The trip up the Beni River is spectacular.
Everyone at the lodge was super. Ricoberto, our guide, was knowledgeable, friendly, and enthusiastic. The meals were delicious and the service was great. Every time I got back from a hike someone was waiting to greet me with a glass of cold lemonade.
More than that, the atmosphere was very friendly. I met people from all over, and like me they were fascinated by the area and wildlife they encountered along their hikes. Every evening we spent "Happy Hour" looking up animals in the guidebooks the Lodge has available. This was a fabulous tour!

Oruro Carnaval and Lake Titicaca
Susan Szollar (Oruro Carnaval and Lake Titicaca, Feb 2010)
The most surprising thing that happened to me was that I had a difficult time acclimating to the high altitude. I had my medicine and was diligently drinking the coca-tea, still neither seemed to work. By the end of the week I started getting better. Unfortunately it was time to come home. The Carnival in Oruro was fabulous in spite of the tremendous crowd. Lake Titicaca was unbelievably beautiful. I wish we could spend a little more time in La Paz to see the museums. But my husband wanted to save some days of his vacation for later this year. Thank you for the great coordination of our trip to Bolivia. It was a very unusual place to go to.
