(Mare Australis + Iguazu Falls, Apr 2004)The trip was excellent. Having private tours and small group expeditions is the only way to do this type of trip. While others were herded like sheep, we were given hands on experiences such as tasting medicinal bark and learning how to use lichen as dye. Being the only English speaking couple in Iguazu Falls was also really beneficial as we ended up with our own personal guide! The best part of the trip was probably the people. Everyone was really friendly and always accommodating. I was also impressed by the cleanliness and sense of safety. Most merchants went out of their way to assure you that you were paying the right amount. The areas we visited were as clean or cleaner and felt safer than any US city I've visited.
