Experience a remote Zimbabwe safari with a stay at Bomani Tented Lodge.  Offering great game viewing whether you visit in wet or dry season, Bomani is situtaed on a 5,000 acre private reserve located just east of the Hwange National Park border in the Ngamo Forest Area. Overlooking the Ngamo Plain, which is some of Hwange's biggest wetland, the location offers close access to a variety of habitat in the area. This Hwange safari experience is sure to enthrall visitors, offering fantastic wildlife spotting and birding, especially when it comes to spotting migratory birds and the 'giants' (elephants) that are often spotted in Hwange National Park. Birding in the area is exciting year-round with each season offering unique opportunities.

Enjoy your days out on a safari drive, spotting game and exploring this more remote section of Hwange National Park. If you prefer to stay in, opt to visit the local village or school to get a taste of Zimbabwe life.

To arrive to the lodge, take a short charter flight from Victoria Falls or Bulawayo to just outside the eastern border of Hwange National Park. For the scenic view, take the four hour drive through Ngamo woodland from Bulawayo to Bomani Tented Lodge and see the breathtaking views of the plains of Zimbabwe.

The lodge offers an open-air dining room area, bar, and lounge looking out onto the Bomani Pan. Free WiFi, though sometimes slow, is available in the main lodge area. Accommodations at Bomani include five Hornbill Tents built on raised wooden platforms overlooking the plain. The four Spurwig Suites and one thatched roof family bungalow are built at ground level and overlook the lodge and watering hole.

All tents offer en-suite bathrooms, hot running water, and electricity provided by generator.

This was our first trip to South America and we were a little nervous. But Adventure Life made things so easy! All our questions were answered before we left, and our guide, Vidal, was amazing! He gave us enough space to explore without rushing us along. He also knew where the best picture taking opportunities were, which was great.

Activities at Bomani Tented Camp

Game Drives  Enjoy traditional game drives in open safari vehicles into Hwange National Park and other nearby areas.

Game Walks - Set out on a walking safari with an experienced guide. These are usually taken in the morning and are ideal for photography opportunities.

Night Drives - Set out to spot wildlife at night, typically on the private concession near the lodge.

Game Viewing Blinds - For those desiring more photography opportunities, set out to hunker down inside one of these blinds and try your best at up-close shots of big game.

Pump Runs - Bomani is responsible for maintaining the water pumps at 8 waterholes for the wildlife in this region. Set out with an experienced guide to re-supply the generator and rations for the local attendant. The furthest one is 55 km away.

School Tours & Village Visit -  Travel fifteen minutes from the lodge to experience a taste of local life in rural Matabeleland. Witness the typical daily routine here and tour the school if it is in session. Some guests even get the opportunity to hear the children sing and interact with the classes.
