Along the way, marvel at the stunning sights: from majestic glaciers and icebergs floating in deep-blue water to the islands' unique indigenous wildlife, the natural wonders of the Arctic are the stars of this voyage. Whales and seals often accompany the ship, while musk oxen graze ashore. Hardly anywhere is geology as exciting as it is in Iceland. Ice and fire have combined throughout the years to form unearthly landscapes of lava, glaciers, boiling mud pots, geothermal springs, and thundering waterfalls. Welcome to Greenland! take your Charter flight from Keflavik to Kangerlussuaq. The MS Seaventure anchors off Kanglerlussuaq and embarkation is conducted via your Zodiac boats. The ship departs in the evening.
The small town of Qeqertarsuaq is on the south side of the Disco Island. The Danish name of the settlement is godhavn, which translates to "Good Harbour". The name is due to the favorable location and abundance of whales attributed to the bay.
Uummannaq is considered one of the most beautiful towns in Greenland. Located on a small island about 300 miles (483 km) north of the Arctic Circle, this tiny, picturesque village lies at the foot of a heart shaped mountain.
Our next stop is Ilulissat, which means “iceberg” in Greenlandic. And with good reason, as the town is located at the mouth of the iceberg-filled Ilulissat Ice Fjord. Delight in the thunderous spectacle when icebergs break off from Sermeq Kujalleq glacier and plunge into the fjord.
With approx. 5,600 inhabitants, Sisimiut is the second largest town in Greenland. It is a modern settlement that maintains ancient traditions. The fishing industry still plays an important role.
Nuuk is the capital of Greenland and its oldest town. Founded in 1728 by Danish-Norwegian missionary Hans Egede, the city combines Arctic traditions and European urbanity. With around 16,000 inhabitants, Nuuk is considered a modern, bustling metropolis compared to the rest of Greenland. Visit the city sights on a walking tour that ends at the National Museum, which exhibits the famous mummies of Qilakitsoq.
The underwater world is like no other, it contains a forest of remarkable mineral columns growing on the seabed. The columns formed over 10,000 years ago of the extremely rare mineral Ikait.
When conditions are favorable, we travel along the 70-mile (112-km) Prins Christian Sound. In this narrow, often ice-choked channel, we come so close to icebergs you can almost reach out and touch them.

Today you sail across the Denmark Strait toward Iceland. This route was used by Norse settlers traveling to Greenland around 900 years ago.

Beyond expectations! Then again we weren't sure what to expect. Lovely stay at the lodge, met other like-minded travelers (many had their trips planned by Adventure Life) and the owner was a gracious hostess. It felt like you were one happy family, visiting with a favorite aunt.

Adventure Life has been an extraordinary travel resource for us over the years and today was no exception. Our River Cruise booking was handled by Jess (who has been our personal trip planner for several years) the same day as our inquiry. Suggestions were given for cabin choice and pre-trip options (that were not shown on the cruise line's website) like airport transfers and prepaid gratuities. Trip insurance recommendations followed and we were assigned a travel co-ordinator till the end of the tour. All we have to do is show up! Great service from friendly folks.

Our travel was flawless! The rider pickup (airport, hotel, ship) was seamless. Jane's recommendation for Emerald Cruise Sakara was everything I wanted but the experience was soooo much more. Adventure Life took care of each and every detail and this was the easiest of all my travels.
