Day 1: Sun Island on Lake Titicaca

Early this morning, transfer by private vehicle with your guide to Copacabana. From here, board a boat and head toward Sun Island (1 hour ride). The Sun Island is worshipped as the birthplace of Manco Kápac and Mama Ocllo, the first founders of the Inca empire. With your guide, tour the Pilkokaina Palace, the Inca’s Fountain, and the 200 stairs of Yumani. Have a traditional atapi lunch (a picnic with local dishes) followed by an hour walk to the Estancia EcoLodge, your home for the evening. Enjoy dinner and the sunset on Lake Titicaca.

Day 2: Moon Island

Observe the sunrise this morning from the comfort of your bed. After breakfast, travel by boat to the Moon Island. Visit the Inca ruins of Inak Uyu on the northeast shore, believed to be the convent for the Virgins of the Sun.

Return this afternoon by boat to the town of Copacabana. Visit La Horca del Inca and, for those interested, travelers can hike the El Calvario to enjoy a spectacular sunset view of the lake and Copacabana. Spend one last night along the shores of Lake Titicaca.

  • 1 Breakfast
This morning you will have the opportunity to explore this picturesque town situated between two mountains on the shores of Lake Titicaca. The trip might have been the absolute best of our lifetime (thus far). We particularly want to commend our guide Peter in the Guilin area-he was so incredibly attentive, energetic, enthusiastic-and absolutely dedicated to ensuring that our meals were 100% vegetarian.
