Day 1: Hotel Stay in Montreal, QC

Enjoy a complimentary stay at the pre-cruise hotel. The evening allows time to become acquainted with the city. For your convenience, our Hospitality Desk will be located in the hotel, and our friendly staff can assist with everything from general questions about the upcoming voyage to reservation of premium experiences. Representatives will be available to provide suggestions for dining, entertainment and sightseeing options to maximize your time here.

Day 2: Montreal, QC | Embark

The St. Lawrence Seaway abuts land where old Europe meets contemporary design – in Montreal. Feel the pulse of this diverse and vibrant city on an optional pre-cruise premium experience. On a half-day driving tour, survey the splendor of the view from the Mount Royal Overlook, then slip beneath the metropolitan surface to explore Underground City and its dazzling array of shops, art venues, theaters and cafés. The medieval ambiance of the Gothic Revival Notre-Dame Basilica enchants all. Throughout the city, ornate edifices and alluring locations hint at Montreal’s wealth of cultural treasures.

Travel up Mont Royal, to the most spectacular vantage point of Montreal. From here, enjoy a breathtaking view of Montreal and the St. Lawrence River.     

Montreal Underground  
As you travel the city streets of Montreal, you would never guess that beneath the city's surface lies an incredible underground pedestrian network and shopping mall. The Underground is Montreal's answer to the cold winter winds but also provides convenient walkways for pedestrians and amazing shopping opportunities year-round.     

Notre Dame Basilica  
View the wonderful stained-glass windows at the Notre Dame Basilica, one of Montreal's most iconic historical buildings. This cathedral of Montreal is the first church of the Gothic Revival style in Canada. Its historical and artistic heritage makes it a significant symbol of Quebec.

Day 3: Québec City, QC

The old-world charm of this ramparted enclave beckons visitors from around the globe. She is a French fille at heart – a glittering jewel brightening the banks of the St. Lawrence River. From a raised mound of earth, Château Frontenac towers toward the heavens over Upper Town, evoking the grandeur of a country estate. Traces of the city’s English heritage bloom in the mixed borders of the living artwork within Joan of Arc Garden. Just moments in the sleek gentility of this marvelous destination, and you’ll feel as if you were whisked across the Atlantic for a whirlwind European getaway.

The capital city of Canada’s Quebec province is deeply engaged in its history and its unique place in Canadian culture. Most of the city’s population is French speaking. This coupled with its unique architectural styles radiate an air of European atmosphere in North America. During your visit, you will explore the beauty of the city in the vibrant landscape of Joan of Arc Gardens. For a glimpse into Quebec City’s rich history, visit the Plains of Abraham where the British and French battled for control of the region and see the stunning architecture of Notre-Dame-des-Victories Church. 

Joan of Arc Gardens 
Explore this vibrant garden featuring a mixture of French and English flowers. As you walk through the lush landscape, appreciate the diverse flowerbeds where over 150 species of flora bloom and encompass the garden’s centerpiece, a statue of Joan of Arc.  

Plains of Abraham 
This historic site was the location of the 1759 Battle of the Plains of Abraham which took place between the British and French. It was after this battle that the British took control of Quebec, and after the war, were granted control of Canada. 

Notre-Dame-des-Victories Church 
Built in 1723, this small stone church is one of the oldest in North America. The church is classified as a historic monument. After its destruction during the Siege of Quebec, the church was reconstructed and today remains a significant landmark and place of worship in Quebec City. 
 

Day 4-5: Scenic Ocean Cruising

This area is a playground for many species of whales throughout the year. A naturalist will join us onboard near Tadoussac to share knowledge and enhance our encounters with marine life.

See where the day takes you – a brisk walk on the Sun Deck, a cozy pint in The Tavern or just watching the scenery slip past…let your mood shift with the breeze, indulging every whim. 

Day 6: Charlottetown, P.E.I.

The red-earthed muse of “Anne of Green Gables” sprouts opportunity for exploration. Charlottetown, planted within the Garden of the Gulf, invites travelers to rollick in whimsical architecture and rose-gold shorelines. Stroll through downtown, allow the sounds of street performers to dance through the eardrums, and discover the seduction of ocean-to-table cuisine. An equipoise of big-city energy with quiet spaces awaits on the shorelines.

Beaconsfield Historic House  
Walk through one of the most elegant homes on Prince Edward Island. Crafted in 1877, this Victorian home is filled with many of its original features. As you tour the grounds, you will get a glimpse into the life of the wealthy business owners of Charlottetown in the 19th century.
    
All Souls Chapel  
Constructed with Prince Edward Island sandstone, this historic chapel is attached to St. Peter's Cathedral. Step inside to see this architectural masterpiece, erupting with color from the marvelous stained-glass windows featured throughout.     

PEI Regiment Museum  
At the Regiment Museum, explore the history and heritage of Prince Edward Island's military forces. Examine the multitude of interpretive displays, featuring over 2000 artifacts, some of which date back over 200 years.  
  
Confederation Museum of Arts  
One hundred years after the historic Charlottetown conference, the Confederation Centre of the Arts was launched. Today, the Centre and surrounding area host a variety of artistic programming including theatrical productions, interactive experiences, and musical events.

Day 7: Scenic Ocean Cruising

Day 8: Halifax, NS

Coastal living, rugged wilderness, and urban polish converge around Nova Scotia’s capital. Drink in the lively mix of historic and modern in the beating heart of this lively seaport. Bustling streets slope down toward indigo brine and oceanic splendor, stretching east into oblivion. Bathe in botanical beauty at the Public Gardens. The fortified summit of Citadel Hill – never needed for actual protection – stands as a testament to the peaceful nature of the nation. The Maritime Museum of the Atlantic and the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21 offer their own remarkable perspectives.

This 16-acre garden has made a blissful addition to Halifax since its official opening in 1867. Today, the garden maintains its Victorian character and vibrant color, making it a peaceful and visually pleasing haven in the heart of the city.    

The Citadel  
The Halifax Citadel is a historic military site constructed to defend the harbor of Nova Scotia. The Citadel is known for its distinctive star shape, and while it no longer acts as a military fortress, it serves as a constant reminder of the city's history. It also presents a perfect spot to take in the view of downtown Halifax.    

Maritime Museum of the Atlantic  
Explore the vast collections of Nova Scotian marine history at the largest maritime museum in Canada. Covering an integral part of Halifax's history, the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic includes exhibits from the first steamers to the Titanic.

At the Old Port waterfront, restaurants and revelry now fill the 19th-century warehouses. Stroll along cobblestone streets and breathe in the fresh scent of the sea. Perhaps catch the strains of some bluegrass or blues from a nearby bar while hardworking fishermen on the wharves catch the next day’s lunch. At Cape Elizabeth just to the south, the Portland Head Light stands as a beacon to the ocean’s travelers.
