Ship Type: Luxury Expedition Ship

The National Geographic Orion captures the essence of the NatGeo name, combining their signature brand of education and exploration with a luxurious flair. Just like its sister ships, this state-of-the-art vessel features zodiacs, kayaks, HD cameras and operators, and even a remote operated vehicle for insight into the most hidden corners of the natural world. Plus, it provides snorkeling and diving gear for those interested in getting up close and personal with the stunning marine life.

This stabilized ice-class vessel is perhaps one of the most elegant and sophisticated expedition ships in the world, launched with innovative features and sustainable standards & practices in 2003. Although much of your time will be spent exploring the breathtaking nature of your destination, there are also plenty of areas onboard that better place this five-star boat in the luxury mega-yacht category rather than the cruise ship category.

Guests will enjoy the fitness center & spa, a boutique shop, beauty salon, Jacuzzi, plunge pool, and multiple social areas. The lecture theater is an immersive place to learn more about your destination from the expert expedition leaders. And the lounge and cocktail bar is a relaxing way to unwind after a full day of exploration. An outdoor cafe, exploration lounge, and restaurants with panoramic views will constantly remind you that you are exploring paradise aboard one of the world's finest expedition ships.
