Board the MS Princesse d'Aquitaine at 6:00 p.m. in Bordeaux. Meet the crew during a welcome cocktail and enjoy a delightful dinner, followed by a guided tour of Bordeaux by night.
Early in the morning, cruise to Pauillac. Head down the Garonne River and then join the Gironde River, passing Cazeau Island and Patiras Island before arriving in Pauillac.

DISCOVERY: Helicopter ride: Fly over the gorgeous Médoc. Experience a bird’s eye view of the numerous châteaux and famous vineyards that give the region its reputation. It’s a once in a lifetime experience! (excursion proposed as a supplement for the classic package)

CLASSIC: Excursion to visit the Medoc (reservation in advance is essential; please contact your travel agency)
**DISCOVERY as a supplement: Medoc: biking, wine, and cheese. With a tour guide, leave from the port on your bike to explore the vineyards and prestigious châteaux in Pauillac. Then, taste a lovely glass of grand cru and some regional cheeses served in a prestigious château in the heart of Pauillac.
Early in the morning, cruise to Blaye. Arriving in Blaye, this superb acropolis was the perfect look-out post to watch for invaders. The famous French military engineer Vauban built a citadel here, which is Blaye's undisputed major attraction today.
Proposed Excursions:
CLASSIC: Excursion along the Corniche, or cliff route. Guided tour of the citadel. And finally a tasting of the famous Blaye "praslines."
DISCOVERY as a supplement : Blaye and its underground monuments. After your tour, walk a few more feet to a local vineyard and taste some regional products with an excellent glass of wine.
Start cruising towards Libourne. Visit the charming Saint-Emilion. Return on board to Libourne. Tonight enjoy your exclusive Gala dinner and evening on board.

Our guide and driver were very good with their knowledge and were very helpful with our questions. It was a very pleasant visit that would have been impossible to do on our own. Hotels and restaurants were fantastic. The special places we got to go to, like the kitchens, were great. Enjoyed the entire trip!

Adventure Life has been an extraordinary travel resource for us over the years and today was no exception. Our River Cruise booking was handled by Jess (who has been our personal trip planner for several years) the same day as our inquiry. Suggestions were given for cabin choice and pre-trip options (that were not shown on the cruise line's website) like airport transfers and prepaid gratuities. Trip insurance recommendations followed and we were assigned a travel co-ordinator till the end of the tour. All we have to do is show up! Great service from friendly folks.

Our travel was flawless! The rider pickup (airport, hotel, ship) was seamless. Jane's recommendation for Emerald Cruise Sakara was everything I wanted but the experience was soooo much more. Adventure Life took care of each and every detail and this was the easiest of all my travels.
