History and authenticity will be on the program throughout your cruise on the Rhone. Discover cities with rich historical and cultural pasts, such as Lyon with its famous 'traboules' secret passages, from aboard MS Van Gogh. Visit the Cluny Abbey, which had an exceptional political, artistic and religious influence on Europe, then admire the castle of Tournon which stands upright on its majestic rock in the heart of the town and houses a museum labeled "Museum of France" since 1927.

Involves minimal physical effort and is typically associated with leisurely activities. Activities are low-intensity or last less than a few hours each day.
Passengers are welcome to board the ship in Lyon at 6:00 p.m. After comfortably settling into your cabins, you will be introduced to the crew at a welcome cocktail. Dinner tonight will be followed by an evening of entertainment.
*Passengers will choose either the Classic or Discovery package to participate in for the duration of the voyage.
Join an excursion for both packages: Guided tour of Avignon and the Papal Palace. Return on board and spend the afternoon cruising. Join the guided tour of Viviers.
This morning will be spent cruising. Join the guided tour of Tournon. You will visit the imposing Castle-Museum of Tournon-sur-Rhône followed by a tasting of local wines and regional delicacies. You'll then return on board. Tonight's your gala dinner and evening. The ship will cruise towards Lyon during the night.

The trip was terrific with great planning on your part. Most of the adventures were not mainstream and somewhat off the beaten path which made it especially enjoyable!! We felt taken care of and you all were readily available to respond to questions and issues. Adventure Life has been an extraordinary travel resource for us over the years and today was no exception. Our River Cruise booking was handled by Jess (who has been our personal trip planner for several years) the same day as our inquiry. Suggestions were given for cabin choice and pre-trip options (that were not shown on the cruise line's website) like airport transfers and prepaid gratuities. Trip insurance recommendations followed and we were assigned a travel co-ordinator till the end of the tour. All we have to do is show up! Great service from friendly folks.

Our travel was flawless! The rider pickup (airport, hotel, ship) was seamless. Jane's recommendation for Emerald Cruise Sakara was everything I wanted but the experience was soooo much more. Adventure Life took care of each and every detail and this was the easiest of all my travels.
