Day 1: Baltra - Santa Cruz Island - Charles Darwin Center

Arrive at the Baltra airport and transfer to the Galapagos Voyager.

In the morning, head to the Santa Cruz Highlands and hike through its varied terrain. Pass through all seven vegetation zones and view Galápagos flycatchers, small tree-finches, and woodpecker finches.

In the afternoon, visit the Charles Darwin Research Station to learn about the unique history of the islands and to interact with the giant tortoises who reside in its corrals.

Day 2: Floreana

In the morning, travel to Cormorant Point to hike a trail which overlooks a saltwater lagoon. A favorite location for flamingos, you may also see green sea turtles. Sail for Champion Islet for snorkeling. Champion Rock is covered with black coral bushes and yellow cup corals.

In the afternoon, visit Baroness’ Observatory and Post Office Bay. Feel free to leave an addressed postcard in the barrel and take one for delivery if the address is close to where you live.

Day 3: Espanola

Explore Suárez Point, one of the most outstanding wildlife areas of the Galapagos archipelago. The island is home to five species of nesting seabirds. Marine iguanas and over-sized lava lizard are frequently seen relaxing on the rocks and are unique to the island.

In the afternoon, travel to Gardner Bay and snorkel with sea lions in its crystal waters.

Day 4: Lobos - San Cristobal

Visit Isla Lobos (Sea Lion Island) to interact with the sea lions which rest on its shores. Home to home to blue-footed boobies, great frigate-birds, brown pelicans, lava gulls, common noddies, yellow warblers and small and medium ground finches, the island is also an ideal location for birders. Snorkel with the sea lions and relax on the beach.

In the afternoon, travel to Cerro Colorado and stand on the wooden platform which offers amazing views of La Galapaguera, a tortoise rearing center. Learn about the techniques and conservation efforts in the Galapagos.

Day 5: North Seymour - Santa Cruz Island - Black Turtle Cove

Spend the morning on North Seymour Island and explore its rocky coast. Spot Daphne Major and Minor in the distance play with sea lions as they swim in the waters close to shore.

Set sail for Black Turtle Cove to view black and whitetip reef sharks, sea turtles, golden cownose rays, spotted eagle rays, and the occasional hammerhead shark. The shallow inlet of Black Turtle Cove provides protection for juveniles of several species and is ideal for snorkeling.

Day 6: Santiago

In the morning, sail for Puerto Egas to relax on black sand beaches and visit the old salt mines. Take an inland hike to the salt crater or walk along the rugged shoreline to find iguanas and sea lions. At the end of the trail, hope to find a colony of fur seals and night herons.

Following lunch, travel to Espumilla Beach and visit its spectacular mangrove forest. You may see nesting sea turtles and flocks of pink flamingos. Snorkel and swim in the shallow water.

Day 7: Bartolome - Santiago

Visit Pinnacle Rock and the White Sand Beach for opportunities to photograph the Galapagos penguin. Snorkel and play with sea lions as they scoot towards you on the sand.

Day 8: Santa Cruz Island - Baltra

Make your way to Los Gemelos, two volcanic depressions on the highest part of Santa Cruz.

In the afternoon, transfer to the airport for your connection back to the mainland.
