Day 1: San Cristobal Northern Coast

  • 1 Lunch
This full day tour starts at 8:00 AM from the Casa Opuntia Hotel. You will be led by an English speaking, Galapagos naturalist guide.

Today, you will journey out on an incredible snorkeling adventure! On the way to our first site, Isla Lobos, we take time to search coves and cliffs for sea turtles, sea lions, frigate birds, blue-footed boobies, and Nazca boobies. Once we reach Isla Lobos, you will be able to snorkel with sea lions, marine iguanas and countless reef fish. This site consistently proves to provide the best sea lion encounters in the Galapagos – after all, Isla Lobos translates to Sea Lion Island.

Your group will then head out towards the open sea to reach iconic Kicker Rock - two breathtaking rock massifs (tuff cones) that jut out from the ocean. Above the waters, thousands of sea birds cling to its walls, and below millions of fish call the rock home. In the channel between the two rock walls, you will find some of the best snorkeling in the islands. You will likely see spotted eagle rays, golden rays, Galapagos sharks, starfish, clams, and fish of every shape, size, and color. If you are lucky, you may even see hammerhead sharks!

After exploring the seas, return to Casa Opuntia Hotel at 4:00 PM.

Kate was great to work with in the planning stage. She was prompt, helpful, and efficient. Our tour guide, Edwin, was knowledgeable and passionate. We were very happy to have traveled with Adventure Life, it made the trip easy and a true pleasure. We could concentrate on enjoying the experience rather than the details of travel.
