Involves minimal physical effort and is typically associated with leisurely activities. Activities are low-intensity or last less than a few hours each day.
Sailing north, see giant icebergs, fjords, spectacular landscapes, and small villages and towns.
Experience Sisimiut, 25 miles north of the Arctic Circle. The name means ‘the people living in a place where there are fox dens’. It is the second largest town in Greenland and a modern settlement that maintains ancient traditions.
See Qeqertarsuaq, the only town on the volcanic island of Disko. Greenlandic legend says two seal hunters towed the island behind their kayaks with a single strand of infant's hair. A witch rejected the approaching green island and cast a spell on it to run aground.
Visit Qasigiannguit, dubbed the ‘Pearl of the Disko Bay’ and considered by some to be Greenland’s forgotten paradise.
Explore Uummannaq, which lies amidst scenic surroundings at the foot of a heart-shaped mountain. Optional excursions include meeting locals or taking a small boat excursion to Qilakitsoq, where mummies from the Thule era were found.
Experience Illorsuit, at the entrance to the Uummannaq Fjord. Only 90 people live in this traditional hunting and fishing community that is rarely visited by tourists. Also visit a site near Saqqaq, around 70° N, 51° W. Feel the power of nature on a visit to the Eqip Sermia Glacier as it calves icebergs into the open ocean.
See stunning scenery at Ilulissat, which was added to UNESCO’s World Heritage List in 2004. Witness enormous icebergs and marvel at how the ice changes color from white and blue to shades of orange and red when struck by the midnight sun. Hear and feel the icebergs as they crack and rumble.
Visit Itilleq, which means ‘the hollow’, and as its name suggests, this small settlement is situated in a hollow, surrounded by high mountains and glaciers and only 650 feet south of the Arctic Circle.
The expedition ends as you approach Kangerlussuaq. Join a final excursion to the Greenland ice sheet before your flight to Copenhagen leaves in the late evening.

Our guide and driver were very good with their knowledge and were very helpful with our questions. It was a very pleasant visit that would have been impossible to do on our own. Hotels and restaurants were fantastic. The special places we got to go to, like the kitchens, were great. Enjoyed the entire trip!

Adventure Life has been an extraordinary travel resource for us over the years and today was no exception. Our River Cruise booking was handled by Jess (who has been our personal trip planner for several years) the same day as our inquiry. Suggestions were given for cabin choice and pre-trip options (that were not shown on the cruise line's website) like airport transfers and prepaid gratuities. Trip insurance recommendations followed and we were assigned a travel co-ordinator till the end of the tour. All we have to do is show up! Great service from friendly folks.

Our travel was flawless! The rider pickup (airport, hotel, ship) was seamless. Jane's recommendation for Emerald Cruise Sakara was everything I wanted but the experience was soooo much more. Adventure Life took care of each and every detail and this was the easiest of all my travels.
