Day 1: Nice, France | Embark

Nice is the fifth most populous city in France and the second largest on the Mediterranean coast. The city's famous seaside promenade, the Promenade des Anglais ('the Walkway of the English'), owes its name to the earliest settlers to this seaside resort. For over a quarter century, the picturesque surroundings have attracted not only those in search of relaxation, but also those seeking inspiration. The crisp clean air and soft light has been of particular interest to some of Western culture's most outstanding painters, such as Marc Chagall and Henri Matisse, and inspiring to entertainers such as Sir Elton John and Tina Turner. Board the SeaDream I and attend dinner as the ship sets sail.

Day 2: Villefranche-sur-Mer, France

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
Villefranche-sur-Mer has been a popular port of call in the French Riviera for cruise ships since the 1980s. This former Russian Navy Base is a fishing port in the Alpes-Maritimes department of Cote d’Azur, near the French border of Italy, approximately 6 kilometers from Nice. Rich in history, this picturesque tax-free town is filled with colorful villas on hillsides, truly reminiscent of Italian architecture. Great for strolling and hiking, this amazing destination will provide a true feel of the Mediterranean lifestyle, and many wealthy individuals have decided to retire here.

Day 3: Saint-Tropez

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
Saint-Tropez located on the French Riviera quite simply may be the most famous resort town in Europe. It is a playground for the fashion models, athletes, movie stars, entertainers and other extremely wealthy summertime guests. There’s much to offer in this resort town: shopping, nightlife, and exceptional beach clubs such as Le Club 55 and Nikki Beach at Pampelonne. Nearby you can explore some of the hill towns and visit the award-winning rose wineries. You can also visit neighboring Grimaud and Port Grimaud or just a little further out golf at a few highly rated courses. SeaDream anchors just off the break wall and tenders directly to the pier downtown.

Day 4: Portofino, Italy

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
Portofino is a picturesque, half-moon-shaped seaside village with pastel houses lining the shore of the harbor. Discover its incredible shops, restaurants, cafès, and luxury hotels. The shopping here is incredible as are the many art galleries. There are also opportunities for hiking, diving, boating, resort golf, tennis, and biking outside the town limits.

Day 5: Portovenere (Cinque Terre), Italy

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
One word – Incredible! Cinque Terre and the three islands of Palmaria, Tino and Tinetto have been added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1997. They have been selected for being distinguished examples of the ways in which man has been able to modify and transform the environment without altering the beauty of the original natural landscape. Enjoy the guided village walk or go hiking on several trails leading down the coast. Taste the amazing local pesto and purchase some to take home. Be prepared for an incredible dinner al fresco this evening!

Day 6: Portoferraio, Elba, Italy

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
Portoferraio is a beautiful town in the province of Livorno, Tuscany, on the northern coast of Elba Island. SeaDream I generally docks just steps away from the main street Via Garibaldi and offers a guided walk of this very historical town called “Walking the Napoleon Trail.” The first site is the Town Hall, proceeding northeast on Via Napoleone, the Misericordia church, in which a mass is said for Napoleon’s soul on May fifth every year. The highest point of the town is the Piazza Napoleone, from which there are beautiful views. To the west rises Forte Falcone (79m/261ft), to the east, above the lighthouse, Forte Stella (48m/158ft), both originally built in 1548 and later completed by Napoleon. On the seaward side of the square is the simple Villa dei Molini. This is believed to have been Napoleon’s official residence, and contains his library. The island offers so much more than just the main city: there’s some incredible wine and several other towns to explore.

Day 7: Porto Ercole, Italy

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
Porto Ercole meaning “Port Hercules”, is a town located in the municipality of Monte Argentario, in the Province of Grosseto, Tuscany. It is one of two major towns that form the township, along with Porto Santo Stefano located on the opposite side of this unique peninsula. It’s a very picturesque marina with sidewalk boutiques, cafes, and restaurants. This is a great start for an excursion traveling to Montalcino for the tasting of fantastic Brunello in one of the most famous Italian wine regions. Other options include hiking to the few castellos (castles) located on top of the three hills surrounding the port, or an adventurous bike ride to Porto Santo Stefano or to the convent on top of the mountain. There’s also a great golf course and a fantastic boutique hotel called Il Pelicano where guests can enjoy a nice atmosphere and lunch. As you are anchored, enjoy water sports from the marina platform (Pending local conditions and approvals).

Day 8: Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy | Disembark

Beyond expectations! Then again we weren't sure what to expect. Lovely stay at the lodge, met other like-minded travelers (many had their trips planned by Adventure Life) and the owner was a gracious hostess. It felt like you were one happy family, visiting with a favorite aunt.
