Day 1: Valencia, Spain

By turns centuries old and totally modern, Valencia is everything all at once. Today the beautiful old town and the old silk market "La Lonja de la Seda," a UNESCO World Heritage Site, still bear witness to the city's wealth in the Middle Ages. A brand new part of the city is situated in a drained river bed and has avant-garde buildings including a futuristic opera house, the largest aquarium in Europe, a botanical garden and a public park. Valencia intriguingly combines its 2,000-year heritage with its visions for the future. Explore before boarding your ship and setting sail.

Day 2-3: Barcelona, Spain

  • Ship
  • 2 Breakfasts, 2 Lunches, 2 Dinners
Barcelona revels in contrasts. Many enthuse over the beautiful elegant squares and boulevards, while others look for medieval romance in the Gothic quarter. Some love the artistic treasures in the Picasso Museum or the Joan Miró Foundation, but for most people Barcelona is the capital of Catalan Art Nouveau and its glory is epitomized in the spectacular Palau de la Música. At every turn, encounter the playfully opulent creations of architect Antonio Gaudi. His exuberant fantasies are evident in the numerous houses, idiosyncratic parks and the famous, as-yet incomplete Sagrada Familia cathedral, which has been under construction since 1882.

Day 4: Collioure, France

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
This small town lies on the French Mediterranean coast, just north of the border with Spain. Explore the historic treasures of this commune: the local art museum houses works by Henri Matisse, and the Church of Notre-Dame-des-Anges, was built around a lighthouse dating to the 17th-century. Or simply enjoy the stunning views from this quaint seaside town.

Day 5: Sete, France

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
This port city in the French region of Occitanie offers white sandy beaches, sparkling Mediterranean views, and biodiverse lagoons. Take the time to explore this charming and historic city.

Day 6: Marseille, France

  • 1 Breakfast
Marseille is the oldest and second-largest city in France, boasting the country's most important port. Europeans and Africans have rubbed shoulders here for over 2600 years, creating a unique blend of cultures. With its imposing town houses, "La Canebière" is the central boulevard leading to the old port where a lively fish market takes place every day. Marseille is a town in flux: the notorious old district of Panier has long since been cleaned up, and in 1995, the multicultural metropolis saw work begin on Euroméditerranée, the largest urban development project in Europe. Disembark your ship after breakfast to explore this vibrant city, continue on your independent travels, or return home.
