Day 1 Bagan | Embark

Board the Orcaella at Bagan and enjoy a delicious lunch. Later, disembark for a guided tour of the ancient city and witness the unforgettable sunset over the Bagan plain. Explore the bustling morning market and pagodas of Bagan during a guided tour. Participate in an exclusive candle-lighting ceremony at sunset.

Day 2 Bagan | Salay

Start the day with a shopping tour in Bagan and a visit to the gilded Shwezigon Pagoda. Choose to either explore Bagan by bicycle, horse, and buggy or enjoy a hot air balloon experience. In the afternoon, set sail towards Salay where you can visit the Wooden Monastery and an impressive 20-foot Buddha made of straw lacquer.

Day 3 Magwe

Visit the port town of Magwe and its famous Myathalon Pagoda. Devotees come from miles around to join in religious festivals and enjoy a blessing by monks.
Continue to Min Hla for a late afternoon visit to the local fort, the site of a great battle during the second Anglo-Burmese War. Travel by ox cart to Gwechaung Fort and have dinner under the stars mid-river.

Day 4 Min Hla

Attend a Longyi tying and Thanakha wearing demonstration on the observation deck. In the afternoon visit by bus to the ancient city Sri Ksetra (‘Fabulous City’) with its unique cylindrical-shaped stone stupas. Dating back to the 5th – 9th century, this city flourished during the rule of the Phyu. During the 1890s Pyay was a booming trade town, and there is still much activity in and around the docks. Next, enjoy a city tour and visit the impressive Shwe-san-daw Pagoda and the imposing 10-story Sitting Buddha watching over this important site.

Day 5 Min Hla | Pyay

Set out by bus on a morning excursion to Shwe Taung town and visit Shwe Myat Mhan Pagoda to see the only ‘bespectacled’ Buddha in Myanmar (thought to have curing powers). On the way back, discover local industry with a visit to a local sweets confectioner and a bamboo shoot pickle maker. Visit a small typical riverside village off the beaten track and experience the local life during a village walk. Return to Orcaella and depart from Pyay. Spend the afternoon relaxing on board and taking in the scenery.

Day 6 Zalon

Disembark at the small port of Zalon. Take a tuk tuk along the main street, lined with stunning colonial-style wooden houses and large tropical gardens. Arrive at the Pyi Taw Pyan Pagoda. Continue to another little-visited town called Danuphyu. This is where the revered General Maha Bandula led a Burmese defensive against the British troops during the Anglo-Burmese War.

Day 7 Yangon

Spend the morning relaxing on the deck as you make your way to Yangon. Join an optional excursion: choose between shopping in Yangon or a heritage tour.
Arrive in Yangon for a guided tour of the heritage architecture and some last-minute shopping at Bogyoke Market. Farewell dinner and entertainment on board.

Day 8 Yangon | Disembark
