Welcome to Toronto, the most multicultural diverse city on the planet: over 140 languages are spoken. It's estimated that over half of Toronto's residents were born outside Canada, and despite its complex makeup, Torontonians generally get along. Toronto is a vibrant, big-time city abuzz with activity. Some of the world's finest restaurants are found here, alongside happening bars and clubs and eclectic festivals.
Delight in this day of cruising aboard the M/V Victory I as you navigate the St. Lawrence River. The spectacular coastline offers unrivaled natural beauties: dramatic cliffs, colorful foliage, historic cityscapes, vibrant with birds and marine life. Take in the changing views as you stroll the wooden decks, tuck into an inviting deck chair, or refresh with a meal or high tea in one of our sophisticated onboard restaurants.
In 2017, Montreal celebrated its 375th birthday, making it one of the oldest cities in North America. Situated on the St. Lawrence River, it remains an important crossroads for shipping by land and sea, with a rich history of Iroquois, colonial, and cosmopolitan settlements. Enjoy a walking tour of the Old City with a visit to the Notre Dame Basilica. Explore Montreal old and new with a drive through the downtown business district to the top of Mont Royal for a commanding view of the city and the St. Lawrence River. Afterward, visit one of the world's largest and most important Botanical Gardens in downtown Montreal.
Quebec City is the only walled community in North America and is deeply engaged in preserving its history and its unique place in Canada. Coaches depart for the Plains of Abraham where the battle between invading English and French defenders took place as the English stormed the upper city and captured the town. Onward to Place Royale in the lower-town, which was bombarded in 1759 from across the river, as fire ships were dispatched towards the port. Then drive out of Quebec City to see the historical and majestic Montmorency Falls, including a cable car ride to the top where you will have magnificent views across to the Ile d'Orléans. In the afternoon, guests are encouraged to stroll on their own out the port to visit the Petit Champlain and take the funicular railway to the Chateau Frontenac and its magnificent Dufferin Terrace.
Experience the extraordinary scale of the St. Lawrence Seaway as you enter the Gulf of St. Lawrence. For centuries, the St. Lawrence River has served as an important route for trade and travel, connecting the Atlantic maritime traffic with the world's largest source of freshwater -- the Great Lakes. The river spans 744 miles, beginning at the outflow of Lake Ontario near Kingston and flowing northeast into the Gulf of St. Lawrence. Enjoy a day of beautiful vistas and serene sailing as you make your way through the Gulf towards the mouth of the river.
Tadoussac, where the St. Lawrence River meets the outflow of the Saguenay River, is one of the most exciting whale-watching sites in the world. Between May and October, up to 13 species of cetaceans make their way upriver from the Atlantic Ocean, to become temporary residents in the salty rich waters of the St. Lawrence. These sea mammals include blue whales, the largest animals on the planet, and the impressive humpbacks, which swim up into the mouth of the Saguenay Fjord near Tadoussac to feed. The M/V Victory II makes a rendezvous with our whale watching boat off the mouth of the Saguenay Fjord and guests transfer onto the "Grand Fleuve", which is staffed by a crew who are experts in whale behavior.
Located on Prince Edward Island, Canada's smallest and most charming province, Charlottetown showcases a wealth of natural beauty and history. In the morning, coaches leave the port and follow the historic trail walked by delegates to the conference that led to the Confederation of Canada. Make your way along the famous North Shore to Cavendish Bay, in Prince Edward Island National Park, to the farmstead that inspired L.M. Montgomery's Anne of Green Gables. Enjoy a tour of the house, stroll the haunted woods, Lovers' Lane, and the famous white shores of the bay. Visit the charming city center before returning to the ship for an exceptional dinner overlooking the sea.
Enjoy a day of scenic sailing of the Atlantic Ocean as you make your way towards Halifax, Nova Scotia. Enjoy convivial conversation with your fellow passengers or join an engaging discussion with your shipboard experts, well-versed in the history, peoples, and natural wonders of the Canadian Atlantic region.
For your day of Atlantic sailing, follow the path of the fishing trawlers who leave the northern extremities of the North American coast, heading out to sea. Unlike them, however, hug the coast of Nova Scotia, passing storied harbors full of maritime history, picturesque coastal towns, and spectacular natural beauty. Elegant dining in two distinctive venues with free-flowing house wine, beer, and spirits enhances your day at sea.

Kate was great to work with in the planning stage. She was prompt, helpful, and efficient. Our tour guide, Edwin, was knowledgeable and passionate. We were very happy to have traveled with Adventure Life, it made the trip easy and a true pleasure. We could concentrate on enjoying the experience rather than the details of travel.

Adventure Life has been an extraordinary travel resource for us over the years and today was no exception. Our River Cruise booking was handled by Jess (who has been our personal trip planner for several years) the same day as our inquiry. Suggestions were given for cabin choice and pre-trip options (that were not shown on the cruise line's website) like airport transfers and prepaid gratuities. Trip insurance recommendations followed and we were assigned a travel co-ordinator till the end of the tour. All we have to do is show up! Great service from friendly folks.

Our travel was flawless! The rider pickup (airport, hotel, ship) was seamless. Jane's recommendation for Emerald Cruise Sakara was everything I wanted but the experience was soooo much more. Adventure Life took care of each and every detail and this was the easiest of all my travels.
