Day 1: Bergen, Norway | Embark

Historic Bergen is famous for its charm and ambiance. Wander the scenic streets before embarking the MS Spitsbergen and starting your northbound expedition.

Day 2: Sunnfjord | Dalsfjord

The Sunnfjord area has high mountains and beautiful waterfalls. Sail deep into the Dalsfjord and visit the idyllic village of Bygstad.

Day 3: Gripholmen

First settled in the 1400s, the abandoned fishing village of Gripholmen is now a summer holiday retreat

Day 4: Helgeland Coast

See Torghatten the mountain with a massive hole in the middle, along with the Helgeland coast. Go ashore, explore the island, and walk through the hole.

Day 5: Crossing the Arctic Circle

Visit Traena, an area with more than 1,000 islets and fewer than 500 inhabitants. Also go ashore on the island of Vikingen, situated on the actual border of the Arctic Circle.

Day 6: Lofoten Islands | Trollfjord

Wander the charming fishing village of Henningsvaer in the Lofoten Islands. Sail through the Raftsundet strait and enter the magnificent Trollfjord.

Day 7: Sommaroy | Tromso

Visit Sommaroy, a group of small islands with white-sand beaches and a lively fishing community. Go hiking, kayaking, or visit nearby Tromso. 

Day 8: Northernmost Point in Europe

North Cape has long been a destination for adventurers. Standing at the edge of mainland Europe and gazing out at the infinite Arctic horizon is a powerful experience.

Day 9: Bjornoya | Bear Island

The remote island of Bjornoya in the Arctic Ocean has only nine inhabitants and the largest concentration of seabirds in the Northern Hemisphere. Arctic water meets warm Gulf Stream currents here, forming optimal feeding grounds.

Day 10: Spitsbergen National Park

South Spitsbergen National Park is part of your history, as the old Hurtigruten steamer D/S Lyngen stopped here to serve trappers. See the majestic mountains Hornsundtinden and Bautaen, which resembles a giant Viking sword.

Day 11: Kongsfjord | Longyearbyen

The Kongsfjord is one of the most beautiful fjord regions in Spitsbergen. Visit the former mining settlement of Ny-Alesund and sail in the Isfjord on your way to Longyearbyen.

Day 12: Longyearbyen | Disembark | Fly to Oslo

Arrive in Longyearbyen for the night flight back to Oslo.
