Today we went out with Dion on his boat to do some fishing. The weather was not cooperating all that much, and we spent the first hour or so just avoiding the rain storms. Luckily, they are small and quick, and we got to do some fishing in between. We saw some permit in the lagoon, but the wind was pushing us the wrong way, so we decided to go out to a nearly-guaranteed spot for me to catch my first bone fish. We fished near the lighthouse for a couple hours, and I caught several off the boat! They put up an amazing fight, and these were just little guys. Now I see why people come all the way to Turneffe to catch bone fish. They are pretty fun! We fished in this hole for about an hour, but a huge barracuda kept swimming around and as soon as I would have a fish on, he would try to pounce on it! I felt bad after a while, that I was holding the fish on my line as the barracuda was ready to pounce, so we moved on from there around lunch time. In the afternoon, we chased some more permit around, and then spend a little time fishing on the flats. I fished a bit more but was mostly just enjoying the incredibly blue waters and relaxing on the boat. A pretty fun day for my first day flats fishing!
We have used Adventure Life Travel before and we where impressed with the outcome of their handling of our travel arrangements. So we are using them again on this vacation. Tilly has been very helpful and we put our complete confidence in her! We feel very comfortable using Adventure Life.
