Embark on Le Dumont-d'Urville in Honfleur, France and enjoy the next 9-days exploring the Celtic Sea during this Musical Odyssey Voyage. You will first discover the Isles of Scilly, a strange little archipelago whose landscapes seem to have come straight out of Enid Blyton's famous story, The Rockingdown Mystery. Here, long sandy beaches stand alongside green fields, while ruins of old castles stand proudly on hilltops. You will also discover Liverpool, a former industrial powerhouse, today completely redeveloped, located on the banks of the Mersey and famous as the birthplace of the Beatles. You will then visit Guernsey, whose green prairies and romantic cliffs welcomed Victor Hugo in exile. Finally, you will be moved by the authentic charm of the port of Penzance, in Cornwall, before heading back to Honfleur, with its Vieux Bassin (harbor) and half-timbered houses.

Day 1: Honfleur, France | Embark

A treasure of the Côte Fleurie, Honfleur is located on the edge of la Crique de Rouen in Normandy. You will no doubt admire the historical ships moored in its old port. With its tall, slate-covered houses, the quays provide a great setting for a very nice walk. In the streets behind the harbor, you will see many timber houses. These picturesque places were the cradle of several pre-impressionist painters. You can see their works in the Eugène Boudin museum. Exhibited works represent scenes of medieval streets and the coastline as it used to be, as illustrated by the Butin beach and its lush green hillsides.

Day 2: Dartmouth, United Kingdom

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
This lovely tour of Devonshire’s “English Riviera coast” will give you a real feel for the village life and delightful countryside in this part of the world. Start with a short walking tour of Dartmouth. This ancient port is perhaps best known for Britannia Royal Naval College which stands imposingly on the hill above. It has been the center of naval training for centuries and so the town itself has a strong maritime history, which is echoed in its ancient taverns and well-preserved shops.

Day 3: Scilly Islands, United Kingdom

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
Nestling in the clear waters of the Atlantic Ocean, at the south-west tip of Cornwall, the Isles of Scilly form a small British island chain whose climate, landscapes and lifestyle are unlike any other and seem to have come straight from an Enid Blyton story. Here, everything resembles a tropical paradise. The long sandy beaches run alongside lush green meadows teeming with semi-exotic flowers, whilst the ruins of ancient castles loom from the tops of the hills. Veritable havens of peace that inspired the legendary Avalon of King Arthur, they are today listed as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the rugged coastline plays host to wildlife that is as varied as it is exceptional, including the very rare Atlantic grey seal.

Day 4: Cork, Ireland

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
This charming stopover on the southern coast of Ireland will certainly win you over with its pastel-shaded houses layered up the hillside. A little train avoids you from having to climb the steep streets of the historic center. Once you’re there, you come to Saint Colman cathedral overlooking the coastline. The extensive panorama provides views of the little islands in Cork Harbour. Down below, the pubs complete with their floral window displays are enough to catch your eye. The pubs are famous for their traditional dishes like “colcannon” - a steaming hot soup made with cabbage served in a bowl, or a plate of boxties - crispy potato cakes with horseradish.

Day 5: Liverpool, United Kingdom

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
The fast-moving and appealing city of Liverpool sprawls along the banks of the River Mersey. This former bastion of industry in England's north-west has found its second wind, thanks especially to the highly successful redevelopment of its docks, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2004. The city, the Beatles' birthplace, has lots to offer to its visitors. While a walk down the Waterfront from Pier Head to Albert Dock is a major highlight youメll also love the quality of ᅠmuseums such as the Walker Art Gallery and the wealth of architecture in the city. But what will really impress you is the playful and open-minded spirit of its inhabitants, which John Lennon referred to as "positive energy".

Day 6: Fishguard, United Kingdom

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner

Day 7: Penzance, United Kingdom

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
The gateway to Cornwall, on the south-western tip of England, Penzance, whose Cornish name Pen Sans means “holy headland”, is sure to captivate you with its charm. This seaside town with white-sand beaches is brimming with history. It boasts a small fishing port and is home to magnificent Georgian and Regency buildings, stunning gardens with exotic plants, and thePenlee House Gallery & Museum, which traces the evolution of West Cornwall. Follow the promenade along the water’s edge: on the horizon stands St Michael’s Mount. This mysterious island, which can be reached on foot at low tide, was once a refuge for pilgrims, soldiers, monks, and fishermen. Here you will deep-dive into a history rich with legends.

Day 8: Guernsey, United Kingdom

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
Guernsey is an atypical and unforgettable port of call. This Channel Island will delight you with its mild, iodic climate and its green and floral landscapes. Don’t be surprised to come across dolmens and menhirs here and there, testifying to the long history of the island and its rich heritage. The attractive capital of St. Peter Port is characteristic of the delightful British atmosphere that gives the island its charm. The memory of the great writer Victor Hugo is also very present, as he lived for fifteen years in exile in Guernsey. His home, Hauteville House, preserves his memory. The incredible richness of the decoration gives a clear illustration of the creative genius of this great man.

The trip might have been the absolute best of our lifetime (thus far). We particularly want to commend our guide Peter in the Guilin area-he was so incredibly attentive, energetic, enthusiastic-and absolutely dedicated to ensuring that our meals were 100% vegetarian.
