Day 1: Arrive in Zagreb

Today, arrive to the heart of Croatia, as you arrive at the Zagreb airport, where your private transfer will be waiting to take you to your hotel.  The drive from the airport to the city usually takes around 30-45 minutes, giving you ample time to take in the beautiful views and get a glimpse of the city's culture. Zagreb, the capital of Croatia, is a city that effortlessly blends the best of the continental and Mediterranean spirit. As the center for cultural, scientific, economic, political, and administrative activities, Zagreb has been the epicenter of Croatia's growth and development over the years. The city has a rich history, and its streets and squares are filled with stories from different eras. Whether you're looking to explore the museums, indulge in the local cuisine, or just soak in the vibrant atmosphere, Zagreb is the perfect launchpad for your Croatian adventure.

Day 2: Zagreb | City Exploration

Meet your guide in the lobby after breakfast for an immersive 2.5-3 hour exploration of Zagreb. Experience the city's past, present, and future as you discover hidden gems and lesser-known neighborhoods. Enjoy the scenic hills of Zagreb and discover the secrets of the magnificent Zagreb Cathedral, before venturing off the beaten path to discover the city's hidden treasures. When you're done exploring the Upper Town on foot, take a ride on the world's shortest funicular for a unique perspective on the city down to the Lower Town.

Take your time to savor the sights and sounds of Zagreb before heading back to your hotel or talk to a Trip Planner about adding an afternoon hike or afternoon wine tasting in the Samobar HIghlands if you would like to add a bit more activity to your day.

Day 3: Plitvice National Park

Start your day with a delicious breakfast before meeting your driver in the hotel lobby. Be prepared for an action packed day as you depart for Plitvice National Park, boasting spectacular lakes and stunning scenery that's hard to beat. The journey may take around 2.5 hours, depending on traffic, but will stop along the way for a unique village experience.
Your first stop is at a charming rural village where you'll have the opportunity to visit a local family for a traditional cheese tasting. This family produces eight different types of organic cheeses, collectively known as "Koran cheese." Each cheese is made using unpasteurized milk and traditional techniques to preserve the unique flavors of the cheese. You'll sample everything from pulp to smoked, feta to fresh cheese, all while learning about the cheese-making process and the family's history.

After the cheese tasting, you'll continue to the National Park and Lakes area. Here, you'll meet your local guide and spend several hours exploring the beauty of Plitvice Lakes National Park. This park is the oldest and largest national park in Croatia, and a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site. It's primarily covered by forest vegetation, but the real highlights are the stunning lakes, which cover just under 1% of the park. The lake system is composed of 16 named and several smaller unnamed lakes, cascading one into the next. Due to the geological substrate and specific hydrogeological conditions, the lake system has been divided into Upper and Lower lakes, all of which you will explore.

After the tour, your driver will transfer you to your accommodation in Plitvice National Park. Here, you'll have the evening at leisure to  enjoy the stunning surroundings and relax after a big day.

Day 4: Plitvice National Park | Split City Tour

Meet with your driver at the hotel lobby and depart on the transfer from Plitvice National Park to Split. The direct transfer takes about 2.5–3 hours.

Upon arrival, you'll meet your local city guide and set off to explore the oldest city in Croatia, which dates back more than 1700 years. No trip to Split is complete without visiting the most significant landmark, the heart of the city – Diocletian's Palace. Your tour will commence with a visit to this UNESCO-protected structure, which has served as the home of people from the 3rd century BC to the present day. Discover ancient history and other historical landmarks at the palace, making this visit an unforgettable experience.

Day 5: Split | Truffle Hunting

After breakfast, meet your driver and depart on a new adventure in the mountains not far from Split city. Join in an exciting journey that you will remember for the rest of your lives, not only as a nature and adrenaline lover but also as a true foodie.

This morning, meet with your driver at the lobby and depart on a truffle hunting experience, which will take you throughout natural sights in the Split hinterland area. Join professional truffle hunters and the first family who started a truffle hunting experience to find truffles hidden throughout the Dalmatian forests. Experience the excitement of truffle hunting amidst the beautiful natural resources in the heart of Dalmatia! With your hosts and their specially-trained truffle-hunting dogs, you will join the hunt and uncover your first truffle! When you reach these secret and coveted locations, they will teach you everything you need to know about truffles and how to hunt them, and you will hear the story of their lovely, specially-trained dogs.

Depending on the season of your visit, you’ll find the black truffle, Tuber aestivum, Tuber uncinatum, Tuber brumal, Tuber melanosporum, and the white truffle Tuber bronchi-fianchetto, Tuber Magnatum Pico, etc. To celebrate your successful hunt, relax in the beautiful forest setting while they prepare a gourmet meal featuring local wine, truffle brandy, and, of course, the truffles! Lunch is three courses, and you can join the chef to learn how to cook with truffles.
After the day's activity, enjoy the rest of the  afternoon at leisure back in Split.

Day 6: Split | Day at Leisure

Split is a stunning 1700-year-old city home to unique historical monuments like the Diocletian's Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Peristil, St. Doimus's Cathedral, and the Piazza. The City of Split has something for everyone, whether you prefer culture, fine arts, songs, music, or sports and recreation. Split also has its wild, natural side, which enchants many visitors. The Marjan Forest Park, known as the “lungs of the city”, proudly guards the urban center. The Marjan Peninsula is dotted with black pine trees, Mediterranean plants and herbs, centuries-old churches, and some of the most beautiful beaches in Croatia.

Enjoy your day at leisure, exploring the area at your own pace.

Our guide and driver were very good with their knowledge and were very helpful with our questions. It was a very pleasant visit that would have been impossible to do on our own. Hotels and restaurants were fantastic. The special places we got to go to, like the kitchens, were great. Enjoyed the entire trip!
