Board the historical Rembrandt van Rijn on this 8-day South Greenland cruise. During your journey, visit the famous medieval Norse Cathedral, see where Viking Eric Red lived, spot white-tailed eagles and other wildlife, bathe in a hot spring surrounded by icebergs, and admire beautiful Arctic scenery. In Nordre Sermilik (Isafjord) you are surrounded by mountains of over 1000m. Make a landing on Eqaluit qeqertat, an old Thule settlement, and push, as far as the icebergs allow, to the glacier front of Eqalorutsit Kangidlit Sermiat.

Involves minimal physical effort and is typically associated with leisurely activities. Activities are low-intensity or last less than a few hours each day.
Begin your journey in Nordre Sermilik (Isafjord), surrounded by mountains of over 1000 m. The ship lands on Eqaluit qeqertat and an old Thule settlement, and pushes as far as the icebergs allow, hopefully to the glacier front of Eqalorutsit Kangidlit Sermiat. Other landings may be possible.
Today in Bredefjord at Qoornooq, land in an area with beautiful remains of houses from the Thule culture. Later sail to the beautiful glacier fronts of Qaleralik Sermia, where you can enjoy zodiac excursions and make some landings near the glacier. This is a good area for white-tailed eagles.
Land in Lichtenau in the morning, a lovely but nearly deserted Greenlandic village, where the Herrnhuters had a mission in the 18th Century, and where some of their large buildings still remain. The crew tries to get the ship to Uunartoq, where you can bathe in a large hot spring surrounded by icebergs. Across at Vagar you can find the remains of a Viking homestead.
Herjolfsnes (Ikigait) was the first landfall site for the Vikings when they arrived from Iceland in Greenland. Across is the small settlement of Fredriksdal, where the Moravians had an important mission post.
In Eriksfjord visit the Viking sites of Gardar (a walk of 3 km from the landing site at Itilleq in the neck of the Peninsula) and Brattahlíð, where Erik Red lived about a thousand years ago. In the evening arrive at the port of Narsarssuaq.

Beyond expectations! Then again we weren't sure what to expect. Lovely stay at the lodge, met other like-minded travelers (many had their trips planned by Adventure Life) and the owner was a gracious hostess. It felt like you were one happy family, visiting with a favorite aunt.

The info on the website was laid out very well. I did some comparisons with other tours and found Adventure Life met a lot of what I wanted in an Antarctica trip at the cheapest price. Requested a quote on Claudia contacted me right away. She answered a lot of questions the I had via email even though she offered to discuss via phone call. I’m more of an email person so appreciated how she accommodated that and answered all my questions. And when I was ready to book, she quickly got the ball rolling with getting our spots reserved on the trip my friend and I wanted. Thanks again, Claudia!

(1) great information on the website and throughout all the "materials." (2) Jane Packer is great: knowledgeable, responsive, takes a personal interest and tone, seems to care about the customer as a person not a sale.

For our first trip to Costa Rica, Adventure Life designed a tour that meets the interests, ecological and adventure, of our party; but also takes into account our physical limitations sine we are all septuagenarian. We are looking forward to the trip.
