After being picked up at your San Jose hotel in a comfortable minibus, you will be driven through Cartago and past scenic sugarcanes and coffee plantations at the base of Turrialba Volcano on the way to the river put-in at Tres Equis. After everyone is briefed on safety measures, an incredible rafting journey down this renowned river begins. Untouched wilderness stretches out in every direction as your raft squeezes between huge boulders and runs long stretches of powerful rapids. The thick undergrowth provides shelter for jaguars, ocelots, monkeys, sloths and myriad of species of colorful tropical birds. Costa Rica tours don't get better than this! A delicious lunch of sandwiches, fruits and juice will be served along the edge of the river. While the guides prepare the food, rafters have plenty of time to relax and enjoy the spectacular surroundings. The Pacuare River provides a truly remarkable day, filled with wet and wonderful fun. At the river take out, you can change into dry clothes in our private restroom facilities before boarding the comfortable minibus for the return drive to San Jose. But we warn you: people that have participated in these Costa Rica tours swear they'll return for more! Trip Length : 18 Miles Difficulty : Class III-IV, moderate-difficult Minimum age : 14 years old Season : All year
