Day 1: Iqaluit, Canada

Le Boréal sails south of Arctic Canada, leaving from Iqaluit to cross a wilderness of glaciers reforming and retreating in an unending cycle. You will also approach the rugged shores of l’Anse-aux-Meadows, an original Viking camp where the route runs along a flat coastal landscape and the sense of desolation is aweinspiring.

Then enter the still unknown countryside of Newfoundland and Labrador where the Gros Morne National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site, offers an opportunity to explore sheer-sided mountains plunging into the limpid waters of the fjords. A visit to Halifax and its picturesque lighthouse at Peggy’s Cove are highly recommended.

Our guide and driver were very good with their knowledge and were very helpful with our questions. It was a very pleasant visit that would have been impossible to do on our own. Hotels and restaurants were fantastic. The special places we got to go to, like the kitchens, were great. Enjoyed the entire trip!
