We share a passion for travel and seek destinations that are both off the beaten path and which offer a winning combination of great food, beautiful scenery, adventure and amazing people. Peru did not disappoint.

Passport to Patagonia

A Family Photo of an unforgettable journey!
By : Jarm Del Boccio
Trip Begins: Jan 17, 2012
Trip Ends: Jan 26, 2012
What a breathtakingly beautiful area Patagonia is! It is a land of contrasts: with flat arid plains around Puerto Madryn and Peninsula Valdez and its penguin colonies and Estancias, to the awesome glaciers and otherworldly rock formations of El Calafate near the central western border of Argentina. At its southernmost tip are the enormous craggy mountain ranges and tranquil shores, and wooded …

Mother and Son in Costa Rica

Rafting the Sarapiqui River
By : Kimberly
Trip Begins: Aug 14, 2011
Trip Ends: Aug 21, 2011
I took my animal loving, adventurous, knowledge-thirsty son to Costa Rica for a week this summer -- we had the time of our lives. Most of the time we were too busy living our adventures to stop and take a picture -- a night hike through the rainforest with sloths, tarantulas, and vipers, watching giant sea turtles lay eggs, a boat safari, river rafting -- but from the photos I did manage to …

West Africa Cruise on the Pegasus

Dolphins
By : Dennis Duck Jr
Trip Begins: Jan 12, 2012
Trip Ends: Jan 21, 2012
The West Africa cruise on the 45 passage Pegasus with just 29 on board was one of the best cruises I have ever completed. The Gambia is a bird lovers paradise and the 3 hour excursion to Bao Bolong Wetland Reserve was one of the best ever. The 5K walk in the Kiang West National Park was amazing. The people and sites of Senegal and The Gambia are well worth the trip!!

Awesome Argentina Tour

Carol, Katherine, and Janet at Perito Moreno Glacier
By : Janet Mukai
Trip Begins: Dec 4, 2011
Trip Ends: Dec 16, 2011
It began as a whim or perhaps more a dream as 3 long time colleagues acknowledged the effects of aging on their bodies but not on their spirits or sense of adventure. WE MUST do an adventure while we are all able and willing, they declared. So despite anxiety regarding care for their three aging mothers during this adventure, the dreaming and research began......First, the date. Between work and …

Rolfing family trip to the Galapagos: after a whirlwind tour of quito, my family (my parents, brother and my husband) boarded a flight to the land of the unknown... a land we had dreamed about since our last south american family adventure in the early 90\'s. none of us knew what to expect but we were filled with excitement as we realized we were actually, finally, visiting the Galapagos islands.

Antarctica

Monochoromatic Antarctica
By : Susan Helder
Trip Begins: Dec 11, 2011
Trip Ends: Dec 22, 2011
It was an extraordinary trip; Antarctica, a continent, is an environment of monochromatic beauty accented with remarkable lighting. All the shades of white, grey and black in the skies, clouds, ice, land and sea depict a calmness, a serenity, a cohesiveness that is almost hypnotic. Watching the landscape/seascape never grew old. See the Monochromatic Antarctica attached photos.I\'ve now had the …
