I had the opportunity to travel to Antarctica with two of my favorite ladies. What a trip! The most beautiful and breathtaking place I have ever seen. Kayaking amongst icebergs, penguins, sea lions and even whales. How will I ever top this trip?

When my wife and I finally went to Antarctica in November on the Ocean Nova, a “Quark” ship that carried us and 62 other passengers, it was the highlight of the year, if not a lifetime (well not yet!).

We had an unbelievable vacation this winter. We made a 20 thousand mile trip across half of the world. We had 15 stops in 27 days in Argentina, Chile and at several Antarctic Islands. We crossed all three natural passages between Atlantic and Pacific oceans including the Magellan Channel, Beagle Channel and Drake Passage, and washed our hands in waters of each of them. My husband & I accomplished our goal of having visited all 7 continents with our Crossing the Circle cruise in March 2011. We started the trip by crossing below the Antarctic Circle, continued with zodiac cruises through iceberg graveyards, saw lots of wildlife, went camping on the ice and did a polar plunge...twice! All in all, it was the trip of a lifetime!

A voyage for two heading for the White Continent aboard the Antarctic Dream - filled with birds, marine wildlife, interesting lectures, new friendships and many memorable moments. This was early in the summer season so all was pristine. The time spent in the Antarctic seems like a dream.

Departing from Svalbard our Russian ship carried us north to within 600 miles of the North Pole before working its way southward to Greenland and our final destination in Iceland. Our spectacular Arctic cruise was bracketed by visits to old friends in both Norway and Iceland.
