Is that really our co-pilt?!

Dangriga, Belize

Apparently using your iPhone is OK on in country flights, or at least that is what the pilot thought.

Watch out for that paddle

Glover's Reef Atoll, Belize

Mom now has an excuse for any memory lapses thanks to dad's kayak paddle.

We now know that dancing talent is inherited

Glover's Reef Atoll, Belize

Or lack thereof, whether disco or traditional Garifuna dancing.

We are all a little shorter

Glover's Reef Atoll, Belize

More about the title in a bit.
The most memorable event of the day had to be one of the top 3 showers of my life. Still G-rated.

The World Famous Chicken Drop

San Pedro, Ambergris, Belize

Somehow this event didn't make it into "1000 Places to See Before You Die."

The beach to the jungle

Pooks Hill Lodge, Belize

Inland to the jungle. From "tourist central" to an oasis in the middle of the jungle where our hot water is created by burning cohune palm nuts.

Returning Home

Pooks Hill Lodge, Belize

Regrettably our trip has come to an end. One last delicious robust breakfast overlooking the rain forest and saying good bye to Pooks Hill, the Mayan ruins and a few scorpions. Cindy won't miss the scorpions, but that's about all we won't miss. We finish up with a pleasant drive to the airport with Pooks Hills' very knowledgeable manager and learned about the politics and current struggles in modern day Belize. Certainly had a rude awakening and return to the hustle and bustle of US life as we accidentally triggered the alarm system (allowing our neighbors to be rudely awakened as well!) and had to contend with our "wildlife," having to trap and release our nesting sparrow that entered the house along with us!
Already thinking about the next excursion...
