Quito, Sacha Lodge and the Amazon rain forest; the Galapagos

It was a great Ecuadorian rainforest kayaking adventure trip! And we learned: that a large black garbage bag makes a great raincoat in a pinch.That you keep your toes away from streaming ants.To bring extra clothing in small dry bags so that you can go to dinner in something other than your pajamas. . .That you are ALONE when you are alone in the rainforest. And you thought you were happy on a cruise!

Delving into the rich wildlife of the Amazon, we explore the Napo and Aguarico Rivers of Ecuador. Then it on to Sacha Lodge to experience the unique atmosphere at this ecolodge on our Ecuador tour.

Each day I found myself amazed, excited, inspired, humbled, filled with a sense of wonder, or all of these! A fantastic vacation to Old City Quito, Sacha Lodge in the Amazon, Otovalo area, and the Galápagos onboard the Millenium.

We had an unforgettable adventure at Sacha Lodge in the Ecuadorian Amazon this spring. The trip was brief, but our 5 days at Sacha Lodge were absolutely perfect. Amy caught two piranhas! We saw Howler Monkeys, Squirrel Monkeys, Pygmy Marmosets, Tarantulas, Macaws, Parrots, Poison Dart Frogs, Crocs, an array of exotic birds, and much more!
