Its exciting, to say the least, to fly out of Quito, Ecuador, since the city sits in a bowl high in the Andes, surrounded by mountain peaks, with the airport nestled right next to downtown. Soon we were up and over, on our way to a short stop in Guayaquil, and then on to Baltra, our first island in the Galapagos.

Our first sight of Quito as we dropped through the clouds was of a bowl filled to the brim with lights. Quito sits high in the Andes, surrounded by mountain peaks, and the city runs right up the mountainsides.

Our Galapagos trip combined adventure (snorkeling with sharks, sea turtles, & sea lions), geology (volcanoes), zoology, history (Darwin), folklore (murder & intrigue), culture, & rest. But the best was sharing it with the people I love the most!

Galapagos Adventure: Memories of my amazing vacation! After being on over 22 cruises on big ships, I was looking for a different experience. I think Adventure Life did a outstanding job with all the arrangements, informative guides and staff before, during and after our Galapagos cruise on the Millennium.

What a trip! I\'ll let the pictures speak for themselves - there\'s probably no need for descriptions, but I\'ll give it a shot. Can\'t wait to go back to see some of the other islands that we weren\'t able to visit this time.

Galapagos Cruise: Through Adventure Life, my friends and I flew into Quito and on to the Galapagos Islands, where we spent 8 days on a 215\' square rigger sailing yacht, exploring the islands with an ecologist. What an adventure!

Each day I found myself amazed, excited, inspired, humbled, filled with a sense of wonder, or all of these! A fantastic vacation to Old City Quito, Sacha Lodge in the Amazon, Otovalo area, and the Galápagos onboard the Millenium.

With just 4 free days, Cuenca has so many places to visit in short time... a great Ecuador travel experience.

We wanted to explore non touristic areas of Ecuador and drove south for a few days finding magical places, wonderful views, amazing people, hidden nature... look forward to going again soon!!!

The Quito Easter Festival is a unique cultural event in Ecuador. From the balconies of the hotel you can overlook the procession route and the Plaza de la Independencia. The procession begins at midday to honor the hour which Pontious Pilate condemned Jesus to death. It is estimated that around 90,000 people participate in the procession with tens of thousands of spectators lining the streets in Quito\'s Old Town.
