Unsurpassed accommodation and facilities on Horn Island are located at the Gateway Torres Strait Resort, which has 22 self contained, air conditioned rooms, each with its own private veranda area and a double and single bed.

Horn Island is 33 mi2 with a population of 650. With many modern facilities, this island has a rich history including gold mining and a role in World War II, as the closest advanced operational airbase to New Guinea was built here in 1940. Approximately 5000 soldiers served on the island during the war, which was bombed eight times by the Japanese.

Hotel Facilities
Accommodations and facilities on Horn Island are located at the Gateway Torres Strait Resort, only a 5 minute walk from the wharf. Facilities include:
* in-ground salt water swimming pool
* outdoor entertainment area complete with Jukebox, pool tables and dart board
* Torres Strait Heritage Museum: home to the largest collection of Torres Strait history, artwork, myths and legends, and wartime memorabilia
* complimentary fishing equipment for use off the Horn Island wharf

Dining Options
The resort has a licensed restaurant featuring different themed nights and a well stocked bar. A daily buffet breakfast is included.

The resort has 22 self contained, air conditioned rooms. Each room contains:
