Diving in Ambergris Caye

In Ambergris Caye, we work with Patojo's Scuba Center. The dive shop's owner is locally famous Patojo Paz,a life long resident of Ambergris and one of the islands premier dive instructors. Each of Patojo's five dive boats is named after one of his little girls - they're sure to become Ambergris's next generation of expert divers!

Travelers can arrange dive and snorkel trips when booking our Ambergris extension or you can sign up each evening for one of their daily diving and snorkeling trips. Dive trips visit numerous dive sites outside the reef to view canyons, caverns, wrecks and a variety of marine life, and snorkeling can be done at Hol Chan, Shark/Ray Alley, Mexico Rocks and Coral Gardens. PADI Certification courses are also available.

Local Diving (tanks and weights included)

• 2 Tank Dives (same day): US$60
• 1 Tank Dive: US$45
• Night Dive: US$45
• 2 Tanks W/Equipment: US$75

Equipment that can be rented directly at the dive shop includes BCDs, regulators, wetsuits, snorkels, masks, fins, and underwater flashlights. Rates range from US$3-US$7 per piece.

PADI Dive Certification

Choose from the complete Open Water Course, a Referral Course, Advanced Water Course, and a dozen specialty courses.

Open Water Course (3-4 days) - US$350
Includes: Academic session, 5 confined water sessions, 4 open water dives, equipment, tanks, weights, PIC Envelope (application to process your Open Water Certificate)
The PADI Open Diver Manual is not included. We highly recommend that you obtain this book and read the first 3 chapters before arriving in Belize.

Referral Course (2 Days) -  US$225
Includes: 4 open water dives to complete the Open Water Certificate, equipment, tanks, weights. Does not include the PIC Envelope (can purchase it from the dive shop for US$25)

Advanced Water Course (2 Days) - US$280
Includes: 5 dives (2 core dives, 2 elective dives and 1 night dive (optional). Core dives include Deep dives and Navigational dives. Elective Dives include Multilevel dives, Wreck dives, and Drift Dives

Specialty Dives - 1 day courses - US$85/course
