The Danum Valley Field Center serves as a base for both researchers and scientists to study the various flora and fauna that call Danum Valley home. Established in 1986, it is one of the leading research and field centre in Southeast Asia, equipped fully with laboratories, living quarters dorms, and a cafeteria, among others to cater to scientists . As the field centre is designed for research purposes in mind, there are limited tourists as facilities provided are at the most basic. But over the years, they have extended out to keen naturalists and free, independent travellers wanting to be involved with the studies conducted there as well.

This was my first experience with Adventure Life - and I couldn't have been more pleased with the trip. The guides and local staff in both Buenos Aires and Uruguay were terrific - extremely helpful and accommodating. I really enjoyed meeting the friendly staff in Buenos Aires in person (I left my bags with them for the afternoon).
