Sea Kayaking and Horse Trek:

4D/3N from Puerto Varas

Horseback Riding at Campo Aventura

US$620        Tour Code: KHE4
Begin your journey into the Chilean Lake district by sea kayaking along Reloncavi Fjord. Then journey inland to the granite mountain peaks to discover stands of 3,000 year-old Alerce trees and an amazing variety of wildlife - condors, pumas and songbirds.

Sea Kayaking Chiles Lake DistrictDay 1 (L,D)

This morning we drive from Puerto Varas to Ralun to begin our kayaking trip. After a brief introduction to safe paddling techniques we take to the water. We kayak along the Reloncavi Fjord enjoying the spectacular scenery and keeping our eyes peeled for leaping dolphins, diving penguins and playful seals. We stop for lunch on a beach and enjoy stunning surroundings. Later this afternoon we arrive at our riverside Lodge. Tonight we dine by candlelight before settling into our comfortable cabañas.

Day 2 (B,L,D)

After breakfast we get ready for our horseback riding adventure. Before saddling up and heading off, those new to horseback riding have a short lesson. Today our ride is about 5 hours and takes us up into the Andes. We begin by following a trail alongside the Rio Cochamo before turning into the Valdvian rainforest. Here we stop for a picnic lunch and an opportunity to sit back and enjoy the lushness of the forest. We arrive this afternoon at our cozy mountain lodge in La Junta.

Campo Aventure landscapeDay 3 (B,L,D)

This morning enjoy your breakfast on the balcony of our rustic lodge, looking into the fantastically lush forest. Today you can hike the six-kilometer nature trail into the Andean rainforest. The trail is well marked and has some 50 different plants and trees which are clearly labeled for identification. We provide you with a trail-book and lunchbox, and you're free to wander the trail and enjoy the surroundings at your own pace. Alternatively fish mountain streams, or hike to a nearby lagoon in the ancient forest where some of the trees are 1,000 years old. If you just want to relax, hang out and enjoy the spectacular La Junta valley. Tonight satisfy your hunger by trying the traditional Chilean dishes cooked on our wood-burning stove for dinner. Overnight in the mountain lodge.

Day 4 (B,L)

After breakfast we saddle up and begin our horseback descent through the rainforest. We stop en-route to enjoy a midday picnic, arriving back at the lodge with enough time to take a shower and enjoy a final cup of tea with homemade cake before leaving for Puerto Varas/Puerto Montt (we leave the lodge at 5pm).
