Involves minimal physical effort and is typically associated with leisurely activities. Activities are low-intensity or last less than a few hours each day.
Fly in to Seattle and transfer to the Island Spirit. Cruise Northbound for Whidbey Island. This afternoon, you’ll enjoy the peaceful Penn Cove area and Coupeville, Wa. Visit the local Historical Museum, enjoy a brief presentation on the history of the area. Back aboard for dinner. The gangway is open for a stroll after dinner.
Day 2: Fort Casey
This morning, you’ll enjoy a guided tour of the area. This includes a stop at Fort Casey with a docent narrated tour of the old guns. Visit the historic lighthouse and learn about the lighthouse keeper’s job while viewing the equipment. After lunch, some afternoon cruising to your anchorage.
Day 3: Friday Harbor
Begin cruising this morning into the San Juan Islands. Transit the scenic “Deception Pass” and into the heart of the 175 Island Archipelago. Meander throughout the islands and stop at Friday Harbor. Visit the Whale museum and stores. Later this afternoon see some of the interior vistas of the island, with a stop at the Alpaca ranch followed by a visit to a local winery. Enjoy a taste of the island fare! Afterwards dinner is served pier side.
Day 4: Roche Harbor
Today cruise and sightsee in the morning. It’s a leisurely departure. Port call at historic Roche Harbor then visit an outer island. Enjoy a beach walk and intertidal interpretive discussion as well as kayaking for the most adventurous of the group. Anchor out tonight in a quiet bay.
Day 5: Orcas Island
Today tour Orcas Island. At 54 square miles, it’s the largest of the San Juan Island group. There’s time to visit the local artist network of Potters. Then visit the highest point in the islands – Mt. Constitution. Aftewards, tour a historic ship builders retreat and exclusive Pacific Northwest resort, Rosario Resort. Your docent and host educate and entertain. Later today, view the sunset over the Strait of Juan de Fuca from your anchorage.
Day 6: Port Townsend
Today visit wonderful Port Townsend. Established in 1851, this town will capture your seafaring spirit. Enjoy a guided sidewalk tour with insights and history of the area. You’ll be thrilled by the nautical themes and Victorian architecture of this waterfront community. Free time after the tour for shoppers. Cruise during dinner to your anchorage.
Day 7: Seattle
Today tour Seattle’s waterways and waterfronts. Transit the Hiram Chittenden Locks; view the houseboats on the Ship Canal and Lake Union. You’ll also get a tour of the luxurious waterfront mansions of Lake Washington. The home of Microsoft Billionaires Bill Gates, with others from the “Who’s Who” of the Pacific Northwest.
Day 8: Disembark / Return Home
Breakfast served, then off to the airport. If time allows visit the Pike Place market, Seattle’s number one attraction. Smell the splendid flowers and fresh seafood in this wonderful combination of foods and color.

Our guide and driver were very good with their knowledge and were very helpful with our questions. It was a very pleasant visit that would have been impossible to do on our own. Hotels and restaurants were fantastic. The special places we got to go to, like the kitchens, were great. Enjoyed the entire trip!
