Hacienda Santa Rita, located just one and a half hours from Quito at an altitude of 3,200m, concentrates on sustainable cattle farming and the conservation of the native Andean forest and páramos. Past eruptions of Cotopaxi have shaped the lie of the land throughout this region and, to protect the resulting beauty and biological diversity, this area has been made into 500 hectares of Private Ecological Reserve.
Lava flows have been gradually eroded by water over the years, giving rise to waterfalls, still waters and rapids. In the midst of this arid, volcanic landscape, life thrives relentlessly in the form of lichens, mosses, bromeliads, orchids and native woods. The ideal spot for bird lovers, adrenaline seekers and families.
Guests to Hacienda Santa Rita will find comfortable accommodation in La Cabaña de Santa Rita, a cozy fully equipped cabin in the heart of Santa Rita Ecological Reserve. With magnificent views of Antisana and Cotopaxi Volcanoes, the cabin is an ideal place to stay for enjoying the natural beauty of the Reserve. Early morning bird watching or exclusive hiking in the Reserve will definitely add a plus to the whole experience.
The cabin is fully catered (all meals included), with two rooms accommodating up to six guests. Twin or King beds are available, depending on traveler request. A shared bathroom, cozy living room with fireplace, and outside deck with hammocks to enjoy the surrounding views provides the comforts of home.
