Ecotourism Internship

Closing Date: Position is Closed. Starting Date: Next internship will not be offered until Fall 2008.

Adventure Life is offering a 3-5 month paid internship position in their Missoula office. The ecotourism industry is one of the most exciting and fastest growing industries on the planet, and Adventure Life is at the forefront of this field with its home-stay programs, rainforest lodges, small ship charters and native guides. Last year nearly 2,700 people traveled with us to places such as Machu Picchu in Peru, the Bolivian Amazon, the wild Galapagos Islands, Costa Rica’s most remote rainforest, and the Western Hemisphere’s largest coral reef off the shores of Belize.

Our company is going on its ninth year in Missoula. Each year we have added new itineraries, destinations and staff. Now, we’re offering the chance for a university student to learn about ecotourism and assist us in our Missoula office.

The position requires a 3-month commitment for at least 3 days per week and 15-20 hours each week. The internship pays $7.50/hr. The Adventure Coordinator Intern will have the challenging responsibilities of assisting in the daily routine of making the office run (assembling confirmation packets, assisting in client follow-up, answering phones, filing, client mailings).

We are looking for a self-motivated individual with a positive attitude. Students from all majors are encouraged to apply; we ask only that they possess a genuine enthusiasm for foreign cultures, ecology and history.
