Ecology Project International is a nonprofit, educational organization whose mission is to inspire science education and conservation efforts worldwide through field-based student-scientist partnerships. They empower youth to take an active role in conservation.

Day 1: Fausto Llerena tortoise breeding center

Take a tour of the Fausto Llerena breeding center to see Galapagos giant tortoises and land iguanas. A group of local high school students have been assisting the National Park’s program and will be your guides at the National Park Visitor Center in Puerto Ayora on Santa Cruz Island. They will share information on the ecology of the islands, tortoise biology, and plans to meet the challenges of conservation in Galapagos from their insider’s perspective.
